Hi,
The Australasian Journal of Information Systems has just published its latest article.
A Framework for ERP Post-Implementation Amendments: A Literature Analysis.
Oseni, T., Foster, S., Mahbubur, R., & Smith, S.
doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.3127/ajis.v21i0.1268
Abstract
Post-implementation amendments to ERP systems (ERP-PIA) are of importance for advancing ERP research, but more importantly essential if ERP systems are to be used as a strategic and competitive business tool. For ease of clarity, we have adopted the term "amendments" to encompass the main forms of post implementation activities: maintenance, enhancements and upgrades. The term 'amendments' is used to counteract one of the major findings from this research - the inconsistency of terms used by many authors to explain post implementation activities. This paper presents a review of the ERP post-implementation amendment literature in order to provide answers to two specific questions: first, what is the current state of research in the field of ERP-PIA; and second, what are the future research directions that need to be explored in the field of ERP-PIA. From the review, we develop a framework to identify: (a) major themes concerning ERP post-implementation amendments, (b) inherent gaps in the post-implementation amendments literature, and (c) specific areas that require further research attention influencing the uptake of amendments. Suggestions on empirical evaluation of research directions and their relevance in the extension of existing literature is presented.
Keywords Post-implementation modifications; ERP; maintenance; enhancements; upgrades

AJIS publishes high quality contributions to the global Information Systems (IS) discipline with an emphasis on theory and practice on the Australasian context.
Topics cover core IS theory development and application (the nature of data, information and knowledge; formal representations of the world, the interaction of people, organisations and information technologies; the analysis, design and deployment of information systems; the impacts of information systems on individuals, organisations and society), IS domains (e-business, e-government, e-learning, e-law, etc) and IS research approaches.
Research and conceptual development based in a very wide range of epistemological methods are welcomed.
All manuscripts undergo double blind reviewing by at least 2 well qualified reviewers. Their task is to provide constructive, fair, and timely advice to authors and editor.
AJIS welcomes research and conceptual development of the IS discipline based
in a very wide range of epistemologies. Different types of research paper need to be judged by different criteria. Here are some assessment criteria that may be applied:
* Relevance - topic or focus is part of the IS discipline.
* Effectiveness - paper makes a significant contribution to the IS body of knowledge.
* Impact - paper will be used for further research and/or practice.
* Uniqueness - paper is innovative, original & unique.
* Conceptual soundness - theory, model or framework made explicit.
* Argument - design of the research or investigation is sound; methods appropriate.
* Clarity - Topic is clearly stated; illustrations, charts & examples support content.
* Reliability - data available; replication possible.
* References - sound, used appropriately, and sufficient - appropriate AJIS articles referenced
* Style - appropriate language, manuscript flows.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
AJIS has been published since 1993 and appears in the Index of Information Systems Journals, is ranked "A" by both the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems and the Australian Business Deans' Council.
In addition to web distribution, AJIS is distributed by EBSCO, it is listed in Cabell's International Directory and is indexed by EBSCO, Elsevier, Scopus and the Directory of Open Access Journals.

Dear Colleagues,
We invite submissions for the 27th Workshop on Information Technology and Systems (WITS 2017) to be hosted in Seoul, South Korea at the Imperial Palace.
WITS 2017: December 14-15, 2017, Seoul, South Korea
(http://witsconf.org/wits2017/)
Call for Papers
Conference Theme: Design Innovations for Human-Computer Symbiosis
“…the main intellectual advances will be made by men and computers working together in intimate association” — J. C. R. Licklider, 1960.
While Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and other autonomic technologies are usually in the spotlight, many important problems are often solved through humans and computers working cooperatively. Thus, the design of information systems has to focus as much on Intelligence Augmentation (IA) as it would on Artificial Intelligence (AI). IA requires a focus on interaction design that optimizes the ability of human analysts to direct the computational process. As such, the designers of information systems have to increase their focus on interactions and interface points such that the execution of computational algorithms can be directed towards more focused and efficient problem-solving paths. Applications of augmented intelligence are beginning to emerge in a number of domains such as cybersecurity, counter-terrorism and space exploration. WITS 2017 invites researchers to present their best work to highlight how they are beginning to seamlessly integrate human and computer intelligence to solve interesting and important business and societal problems.
Note: A limited number of student travel assistance grants are available. Further details on this grants program will be announced on the conference website.
Submission Types
The workshop theme encourages submissions from a broad range of topic areas, please visit the WITS website for details.
Regular Paper
WITS invites research focused on addressing complex business problems or societal issues using current and emerging information technologies. As WITS is a workshop, it encourages submission of papers that report on an early stage of research and that will lead to interesting discussion at the workshop. We solicit papers that utilize any problem-solving paradigm, such as empirical, analytical, behavioral, experimental, or computational. WITS focuses on papers that inform Design of technologies and systems. As such, authors are required to explicitly discuss how their research address important design problems as they relate to Information Technology and Systems.
Demo/Prototype/Poster
Demos, prototypes, and posters showcase implementations of innovative IT artifacts (i.e., constructs, models, methods). They provide opportunities to demonstrate and discuss emerging IT artifacts with researchers and practitioners.
Dissertation Proposal
The applicant must not have completed the dissertation, but must have successfully proposed it, by July 1, 2017. Dissertation proposals should follow the same formatting requirements as regular papers, and should not exceed 10 pages.

Introduction
Assessment profoundly influences the motivation of those who learn, shapes
their perspectives about learning and therefore plays a key role in the
educational process. The introduction of different assessment systems has
important impacts throughout the educational process (Botički & Milašinović,
2008; Brown, 2001; Bull & Danson, 2001; Frankland, 2007; Garfield & Ben-Zvi,
2008; Holmes, 2015; Jacob, Issac, & Sebastian, 2006; Jarvis, Holford, &
Griffin, 2003; JISC, 2007; Redecker & Johannessen, 2013; Scouller, 1998;
Smith et al., 1996; Stödberg, 2012; Wild, Triggs, & Pfannkuch, 1997). In
the last years, the emergence of a new paradigm valuing the student as the
central subject in the construction of their learning, requires new
pedagogical approaches, and diversified methods (Botički & Milašinović,
2008; Llamas-Nistal, Fernández-Iglesias, González-Tato, & Mikic-Fonte,
2013; Mora, Sancho-Bru, Iserte, & Sánchez, 2012; Rod, Eiksund, & Fjaer,
2010). According to Redecker e Johannessen (2013), changes in pedagogical
practices and in the learning processes can only happen when also changing
assessment.
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) place challenges and at
the same time offer teachers tools to create differentiated learning
opportunities for students. The use of ICT in the assessment process is
thus unavoidable, through electronic assessment, or e-assessment. In this
case, ICT is used throughout the evaluation process from the design of the
tests to the storage of the results (Stödberg, 2012). One possible approach
is to develop specific environments for this purpose (Botički & Milašinović,
2008; Dascalu & Bodea, 2010; Llamas-Nistal et al., 2013). Another approach
is the use of the so-called Learning Management Systems (LMS) (Burrow,
Evdorides, Hallam, & Freer-hewish, 2005; Salas-Morera, Cubero-Atienza,
Redel-Macías, Arauzo-Azofra, & García-Hernández, 2012). LMS have the
advantage of providing a vast set of tools specifically designed for the
implementation of e-assessment. Among these tools we emphasize the quizzes,
which can encompass several types of questions, such as multiple-choice,
true/false, item matching, short answer, among others.
Considering its purpose, assessment may be formative and/or summative, or
diagnostic (Jacob et al., 2006; Redecker & Johannessen, 2013; Stödberg,
2012) (Jacob et al., 2006; Redecker & Johannessen, 2013; Stödberg, 2012).
In relevant scientific studies about this topic, it was found that the use
of formative evaluation or of both types, formative and summative
simultaneously, is more common than the use of summative evaluation alone (
Stödberg, 2012). E-assessment can be useful and can bring benefits to both
types of assessment, formative and summative (Bull & Danson, 2001;
McAlpine, 2002).Assessment can also be continuous. E-assessment “can
provide a powerful means of continuous assessment, providing rapid and
detailed feedback to students and academics about the learning process.”
(McAlpine, 2002, p. 8).
Stödberg (2012) presents a study in which e-assessment task were classified
in five categories namely: (i) closed questions, such as multiple-choice
questions and matching, (ii) open-ended questions, (iii) portfolio, (iv)
product, such as software, and (v) discussions between students.
There are applications of e-assessment in diverse areas such as geography
(Holmes, 2015; Rod et al., 2010; Wilson, Boyd, Chen, & Jamal, 2011),
management (Jacob et al., 2006), chemistry (Sorensen, 2013), medicine
(Harris et al., 2015), engineering (Botički & Milašinović, 2008; Burrow et
al., 2005; Jacob et al., 2006; Moscinska & Rutkowski, 2012) , and
Mathematics (Acosta-Gonzaga & Walet, 2013; Blanco & Ginovart, 2012; Ferrão,
2010; Gruttmann, Böhm, & Kuchen, 2008; Hauk, Powers, & Segalla, 2015;
Mathai & Olsen, 2013).
Historically, assessment in higher education consisted in the application
of final exams for each of the courses, the so-called final assessment. In
Europe, the Bologna process points out to another type of assessment,
encompassing diverse forms of assessments carried out during the
semester/academic year, the so-called continuous assessment. E-assessment
plays an important paper in this context, and has nowadays a growing
importance in Higher Education, not only in Europe, but around the world.
Objective
The primary objective of this book is to provide insights concerning the
use of e-assessment in Higher Education. This is a cutting-edge and
important topic that deserves a reflexion, and this book is an excellent
opportunity to do it. The book aims to provide the opportunity for a
reflexion on this important issue, increasing the understanding of using
e-assessment in the context of several different contexts, providing
relevant academic work, empirical research findings, and an overview of
this relevant field of study.
