Mini-Track Title: Service Innovation in Virtual Communities
Track: Virtual Communities and Collaboration
Mini-Track Description:
Grounded in service-dominant logic perspective, service innovation refers to the exchange and application of specialized competences (knowledge and skills) to create novel resources that are beneficial to actors inside and outside of organizations. As such, service innovation incorporates various partners from service providers to service consumers as active participants in its process. As such, information technology, in particular virtual communities and collaboration (VCC) technologies, can play a poignant role in the service innovation process. VCC technologies enable organizations to interact and collaborate with external actors such as consumers and other business partners to improve their business processes, products and services, and value propositions. Although VCC technologies are giving rise to new forms of service innovations, their implications and impacts for businesses have yet to be clarified in the research findings. To that end, this mini track focuses on the use of
VCC technologies in service innovation and their business impacts.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
* Business impacts of use of collaborative and virtual communities technologies toward service innovation.
* Affordances of collaborative and virtual communities technologies for service innovations.
* New theoretical models explaining the role of collaborative and virtual communities technologies for service innovations.
* Opportunities and challenges of service innovation in the collaborative and virtual communities technologies context.
* Case studies showing the success and/or failures of use of collaborative and virtual communities technologies toward service innovation
* Ethical, legal, and privacy issues of use of collaborative and virtual communities technologies toward service innovation.

Call for Papers
Special Session on
Big Data Analytics and Stream Data Mining (BDASD2017)
A Special Session co-located with the 23rd International Symposium
on Methodologies for Intelligent Systems (ISMIS 2017)
Warsaw, Poland, June 26-29, 2017
*********************************************************************
Objectives
==========
In the world of today, modern information systems are able to collect
very large data with inherent and increasing complex structure and
dimensionality. Furthermore, new data sources often provide various
heterogeneous representations and also time changing characteristics
with respect to the data. This is particular visible in the rapidly
developing field of Big Data Analytics. Although machine learning and
data mining researchers had already studied mining massive and
complex data, there are significant differences between earlier
efforts and the current trends opening up new problems and
challenges. Indeed, Big Data Analytics opens up new research problems
which were only considered within a limited range. Applications of
Big Data Analytics may also influence human behavior and society in
a significantly higher degree than before – which also requires new
types of research. Furthermore, new Big Data challenges are
particularly relevant in emerging applications where data are
continuously generated at a high rate in the form of data streams,
whose characteristics may also change with time (concept drifting
data). Compared to static, standard environments, processing data
streams implies new computational challenges and requirements for
algorithms and their ability to adapt to such dynamic and complex
contexts.
In order to address these new research challenges concerning both the
analysis of Big Data and mining data streams, respectively, we
organize a special session – BDASD - co-located with the ISMIS
conference. We aim to gather researchers from all over the world
coming from different communities being interested in the
aforementioned issues, as well as to present algorithmic foundations
and application aspects of analyzing these new types of data.

Influential Researcher Identification in Academic Network Using Rough Set
Based Selection of Time-Weighted Academic and Social Network Features
Manju G. (Anna University, Department of Computer Science, Tamil Nadu,
India), Kavitha V. (Anna University, Department of Computer Science, Tamil
Nadu, India), Geetha T.V. (Anna University, Department of Computer Science,
Tamil Nadu, India)
Researchers entering into a new research area are interested in knowing the
current research trends, popular publications and influential (popular)
researchers in that area in order to initiate their research. In this work,
we attempt to determine the influential researcher for a specific topic. The
active participation of the researchers in both the academic and social
network activities signifies the researchers' influence level across time.
The content and frequency of social interaction to a researcher reflects his
or her influence. In our system, appropriate time-based social and academic
features are selected using entropy based feature selection approach of
rough set theory. A three layer model comprising semantically related
concepts, researcher and social relations is developed based on the
appropriate (influential) features. The researchers' topic trajectories are
identified and recommended using Spreading activation algorithm. To cope up
with the scalable academic network, map reduce paradigm has been employed in
the spreading activation algorithm.

Materialized View Selection using Artificial Bee Colony Optimization
Biri Arun (Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of Computer and Systems
Sciences, New Delhi, India), T.V. Vijay Kumar (Jawaharlal Nehru University,
School of Computer and Systems Sciences, New Delhi, India)
Data warehouse is an essential component of almost every modern enterprise
information system. It stores huge amount of subject-oriented, time-stamped,
non-volatile and integrated data. It is highly required of the system to
respond to complex online analytical queries posed against its data
warehouse in seconds for efficient decision making. Optimization of online
analytical query processing (OLAP) could substantially minimize delays in
query response time. Materialized view is an efficient and effective OLAP
query optimization technique to minimize query response time. Selecting a
set of such appropriate views for materialization is referred to as view
selection, which is a nontrivial task. In this regard, an Artificial Bee
Colony (ABC) based view selection algorithm (ABCVSA), which has been adapted
by incorporating N-point and GBFS based N-point random insertion operations,
to select Top-K views from a multidimensional lattice is proposed.
Experimental results show that ABCVSA performs better than the most
fundamental view selection algorithm HRUA. Thus, the views selected using
ABCVSA on materialization would reduce the query response time of OLAP
queries and thereby aid analysts in arriving at strategic business decisions
in an effective manner.

Fuzzy Rule Based Environment Monitoring System for Weather Controlled
Laboratories using Arduino
S. Sasirekha (SSN College of Engineering, Department of Information
Technology, Chennai, India), S. Swamynathan (Anna University, Department of
Information Science and Technology, Chennai, India)
Weather controlled laboratories such as blood banks, plasma centers,
biomedical, research, pharmacy and healthcare always require a portable, low
cost and web-based centralized wireless monitoring system. However, it has
become more stringent to monitor various weather controlling devices of
these laboratories in order to reduce the risk of non-compliance with
accreditation requirements. In literature, it is inferred that the majority
of existing event detection approaches relies only on precise value to
specify event thresholds, but those values cannot adequately handle the
imprecise sensor reading. Therefore, in this work, one of the soft computing
technologies, fuzzy logic is adopted to demonstrate that fuzzy rule based
value significantly improves the accuracy of event detection. The prototype
built is tested in a physical laboratory as a personal mobile weather
station for monitoring and analyzing the environmental conditions using
fuzzy simulated values.

A Model for Text Summarization
Rasim M. Alguliyev (Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Institute of
Information Technology, Baku, Azerbaijan), Ramiz M. Aliguliyev (Azerbaijan
National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Information Technology, Baku,
Azerbaijan), Nijat R. Isazade (Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences,
Institute of Information Technology, Baku, Azerbaijan), Asad Abdi
(University of Malaya, Department of Artificial Intelligence, Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia), Norisma Idris (University of Malaya, Department of Artificial
Intelligence, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Text summarization is a process for creating a concise version of
document(s) preserving its main content. In this paper, to cover all topics
and reduce redundancy in summaries, a two-stage sentences selection method
for text summarization is proposed. At the first stage, to discover all
topics the sentences set is clustered by using k-means method. At the second
stage, optimum selection of sentences is proposed. From each cluster the
salient sentences are selected according to their contribution to the topic
(cluster) and their proximity to other sentences in cluster to avoid
redundancy in summaries until the appointed summary length is reached.
Sentence selection is modeled as an optimization problem. In this study, to
solve the optimization problem an adaptive differential evolution with novel
mutation strategy is employed. With a test on benchmark DUC2001 and DUC2002
data sets, the ROUGE value of summaries got by the proposed approach
demonstrated its validity, compared to the traditional methods of sentence
selection and the top three performing systems for DUC2001 and DUC2002.

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
======================
22nd EURAS Annual Standardisation Conference
- Digitalisation: Challenge and Opportunity for Standardisation -
28 - 30 June 2017
Berlin, Germany
Organised by
The European Academy for Standardisation (EURAS)
TU Berlin & Fraunhofer FOKUS
Hosted by
DIN e.V.
The progressing digitalisation will have disruptive impacts on both the economy and society - speed and complexity of technological change will increase dramatically. These developments will challenge existing institutional frameworks including regulations and standardisation, which will have to be continuously adapted. Moreover, digitalisation drives the convergence of different technologies and even sectors and thus increases the need for new interfaces at various levels. As a result, more standards will be needed, especially at the international level. In addition, the increasing relevance of data protection and security will require an even better co-ordination between standardisation and regulation, which also faces problems of transnational harmonisation. In summary, these challenges driven by digitalisation require comprehensive analyses to adequately inform stakeholders active in standardisation, including standards setting organisations.
EURAS 2017 solicits papers on the above theme. However, papers on other standardisation topics will also be considered. Sample topics include:
* Standard Reference Architectures
* Standards for Systems Engineering
* Standards for Converging Technologies
* Standardisation Roadmaps
* Standardisation and Open Source
* Standardisation as a policy tool
* Standards as barriers to trade?!
* National or international policy and standardisation
* Standardisation and Europe's research and innovation agenda
* Relation between standardisation and legislation
* Standards as a driver for innovation
* Standardisation and quality infrastructure
* Standardisation and IPR
* Standards and knowledge transfer
* The impacts of standards and standardisation
* Quality of standards
* Role of industry and their associations in standardisation
* Standardisation via industry consortia
* History of standardisation
* Standardisation processes
Full papers (up to 30 double spaced pages; rtf. .doc or .docx format) should be submitted to Kai Jakobs at Kai.Jakobs(a)cs.rwth-aachen.de.
All papers will be double blind reviewed by members of the Programme Committee. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, as part of the 'EURAS Contributions to Standardisation Research' book series. Particularly good papers will be fast-tracked to the Int. Journal of Standardization Research.

In this workshop, we aim to attract researchers from all over the world
working on Machine Learning and AI models for social media data analytics
and predictive insights. Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and
LinkedIn have paved the way for generating huge amount of diverse data in a
short period of time. Such social media data require the application of big
data analytics to produce meaningful information to both information
consumers and data generators. Machine learning and AI techniques are
particularly effective in situations where deep and predictive insights
need to be uncovered from such social media data sets that are large,
diverse and fast changing. We aim to focus on machine learning and AI
driven data analytics and predictive modeling on social media and the web.
We invite researchers that are interested in going beyond standard
analytics approaches and discovering the knowledge/insights hidden in the
large and fast-changing social media data.
In this context, we would also like to invite researchers in the machine
learning, AI, natural language processing, data and web mining community to
lend their expertise to help to increase our understanding of the web and
social media. We are interested in receiving papers related to the
following topics which include but are not limited to:
* AI, machine learning and natural language processing for social media,
big data and the web
* Learning analytics methods or frameworks for social media, big data and
the web
* Learning activities, applications and interventions
* Approaches for social influence learning
* Learning methods for social link prediction
* Methods for learning social activities and behavioral analytic metrics
* Approaches and algorithms for efficient learning
* Evaluation of learning analytics frameworks and metrics
* Applications of any of the above methods and technologies
The goal of this workshop is to study the application of machine learning
and AI approaches and algorithms to social media, big data and the web.

Proceedings:
============
Contributions will be included in the Companion volume of the ACM
WWW2017 conference, which will be published by ACM and included
in the ACM Digital Library. However, to make that happen at least one
author of the accepted paper has to register. At the time of submission of
the final
camera-ready copy, authors will have to indicate the already
registered person for that publication.
Any paper published by the ACM, IEEE, etc. which can be properly
cited constitutes research which must be considered in judging the
novelty of a WWW submission, whether the published paper was in a
conference, journal, or workshop. Therefore, any paper previously
published as part of a WWW workshop must be referenced and suitably
extended with new content to qualify as a new submission to the
Research Track at the WWW conference.
Submission guidelines:
======================
All submitted papers must
* be written in English;
* contain author names, affiliations, and email addresses;
* be formatted according to the ACM SIG Proceedings template
(http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates)
with a font size no smaller than 9pt;
* be in PDF (make sure that the PDF can be viewed on any
platform), and formatted for US Letter size;
* occupy no more than six pages, including the abstract,
references, and appendices.
It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure that their submissions
adhere strictly to the required format.
Submissions that do not comply with the above guidelines may be
rejected without review.
All submissions must be entered into the reviewing system:

Betreff: [WI] Call for Papers - HMD Schwerpunktheft Februar 2018:
Enterprise Systems
Datum: Tue, 10 Jan 2017 12:20:43 +0100

Organisation: Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf
An: wi(a)aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de
Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
anbei mein Aufruf zur Beitragseinreichung für die HMD 319 mit dem
Schwerpunkt /Enterprise Systems/.
Viele Grüße und eine gute Zeit,
Knut Hildebrand
*Call for Papers
*
Zeitschrift: HMD Praxis der Wirtschaftsinformatik
http://www.springer.com/hmd
Schwerpunktheft Februar 2018 (HMD 319): *Enterprise Systems*
*Vorschau:*
sich entwickelt – Big Data, Cloud Computing oder Bring your own Device
alten Daten, was kann, soll, muss archiviert weden?
konzeptionellen Grundlagen – insbesondere aktuelle praxisrelevante
Beiträge, Projekt- und Erfahrungsberichte zum Thema Enterprise Systems.
Mögliche Themenstellungen des Schwerpunktheftes sind u.a.:
* Auswahl von ERP-Software
* Strategien der Hersteller von ERP-Systemen
* Integrationskonzepte, Schnittstellenprobleme, Vernetzung
* Stammdatenverwaltung und Datenqualität
* Beratung und Schulung
* Implementierung Enterprise Systems
* Betriebskonzepte (Cloud, Virtualisierung, Archivierung …)
* Open Source ERP-Software/Lizensierung
* Migration, Anpassung und Tools
* Enterprise Systems und Big Data
* Kostenaspekte, Make or Buy
* SAP S/4HANA
* Releasepolitik: Upgrades, Updates, Korrekturen
*Themenvorschläge:
*Bitte wenden Sie sich vor einer Einreichung mit Vorschlägen (Thema,
Abstract) an den Herausgeber des Heftes.
*Termine und Fristen: *
Online-Einreichung von Vorschlägen bis spätestens: 2. April 2017 (gern
auch früher)
Abgabetermin fertiger Beiträge bis spätestens: 10. Juni 2017
Überarbeitung durch Autoren: voraussichtlich Mitte August bis Mitte
Oktober 2017 (nach Eingang der Gutachten)
Erscheinungstermin: Februar 2018
