The mission of the Journal of Information Privacy and Security (JIPS) is to serve both academics and practitioners as a reliable source on issues of information privacy and security. The Journal is a high quality refereed journal that seeks support from academicians, industry experts and specific government agencies. The JIPS focuses on publishing articles that address the paradoxical nature of privacy versus security amidst current global conditions. It is increasingly important that various constituents of information begin to understand their role in finding solutions to achieve a delicate balance between security and privacy.
The JIPS will facilitate understanding of the information assurance technical framework as it pertains to government agencies, companies and individuals. The topics may include the information privacy and security issues pertaining to initiatives on counter-terrorism efforts around the world, the impact of U.S. federal regulation and compliance issues facing global corporations, the impact of privacy and security initiatives within small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and e-gambling.
Article submissions are encouraged from both academics and practitioners. Each issue will include high quality articles from academics and practitioners, case studies, book reviews, and industry interviews. The Journal addresses issues of privacy and security from a global perspective and will consider articles with a cross-functional focus. The Journal will include articles in the following areas:
- Information Assurance frameworks
- Network security and impact on corporate infrastructure
- Privacy laws and impact on information compliance issues
- The duality of privacy and security and impact on corporate operations
- Governmental regulations and changes on information security requirements
- Data transfer issues across nations, states, and corporations
- Privacy and security requirements in B2B and B2C information flows
- Cross-functional aspects of information assurance and requirements faced by various business functions within companies

Integrating Business Operations, Information Technologies, and Consumer Behavior
(Part of the Organizational Systems and Technology Track, HICSS 50)
We invite you to submit papers to the "Integrating Business Operations, Information Technologies, and Consumer Behavior" minitrack at HICSS, January 4-7, 2017. The conference will be held on Big Island, Hawaii.
This popular minitrack, building upon a successful track record of the last seven years, will bring to HICSS high quality research that uses analytical, empirical, and experimental modeling approaches to explore the increasing complex roles that advanced information technologies such as Web 2.0, mobile, and cloud computing play in business operations and strategies, and consumer decisions and activities. In particular, we seek novel studies that systematically explore the complex interplays between information technology and consumer behavior, customer relationship management, organizational architectures, product development, sales and services, and supply chain management. We are also soliciting comprehensive reviews of relevant research, rigorous case studies, and applications highlighting the use of new technologies, methods, and techniques. There is a growing body of research within the economics, marketing, operations management, information systems, and healthcare communities which are starting to address those issues. This minitrack has been attracting a growing number of scholars from all over the world and has already led to four successful Special Issues in the Decision Support Systems journal. We expect to see applications in:
· advanced supply chain management systems
· impact of web 2.0 on competition and cooperation
· business analytics and big data in supply chain management
· capacity planning, contracting and global supply chain design
· crowdsourcing and product innovation
· information sharing and integration along the supply chain
· emerging of new models for the "sharing economy"
· outsourcing service operations
· social media implications for operations management
· using mobile applications for order fulfillment
· using mobile technologies in customers service and support
· innovations in healthcare IT
· new technologies for enhanced consumers' engagement
· peer-to-peer marketing
· products' ranking algorithms, reputation systems and the performance of online markets
· using web analytics to influence how consumers select products and services
· sales innovation using real-time location and social data
Selected papers from the minitrack will be fast tracked to a Special Issue of a leading refereed journal.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The journal Decision Support Systems is organizing a special issue, to be published in Summer 2017 on “Location Analytics and Decision Support.”
The goal of this special issue is to explore and gain knowledge of contemporary GIS for decision-making and analytics emphasizing the emerging areas of mobile devices, analytics, big data, and social media applied to spatial decisions, as well as novel decision-making models, systems, and applications that demonstrate today’s more pervasive, complex, and sophisticated locational analytics tools and technologies. Manuscripts that emphasize theoretical, empirical, and design science approaches using a variety of methodologies are welcome.
The detailed Call for Papers, including topics of interest, submission requirements, review policy, and important dates is available at: http://www.journals.elsevier.com/decision-support-systems/call-for-papers/c….
You are encouraged to consider submitting a manuscript for this special issue. The special issue editorial team invites your submissions for this special issue. Should you have any questions, please contact any member of the editorial team.
