*CALL FOR PAPERS*
**** 2015 European Security Conference ****
*Security in the Internet of Things*
*June 1-2, 2015, LISBON, PORTUGAL*
*Papers submission deadline: May 11, 2015*
*http://secconf.iseg.ulisboa.pt <http://secconf.iseg.ulisboa.pt/>*
*Background*
The nature and scope of the Information Security field is evolving. We are
no longer are we just concerned with protecting the technical edifice. Our
emphasis has become more holistic, and we tend to consider both the
organizational and technical aspects of information protection to be
equally important. The European Security Conference provides a forum for
discourses in Security, Assurance and Privacy that will define the moment
and provide a useful basis for nurturing further dialogues.
The European Security Conference facilitates interactions amongst
researchers and practitioners in the field of security, assurance and
privacy in Europe and beyond. We hope to facilitate discussions and build a
community of interest. The Conference welcomes diverse views of managing
security and privacy. These may range from being very technical to
socio-organizational, and the intention is to develop informed insights
into the socio-technical nature of security problems.
The 2015 European Security Conference is scheduled for June 1-2, 2015, in
Lisbon, Portugal. The Conference is the European extension of the Annual
Security Conference that has been held in Las Vegas (USA) for over a
decade. The conference attracts a nice mix of participants from academia,
government and industry. Organizers for the 2015 event is ISEG, University
of Lisbon (Portugal).
Conference theme for 2015 is: *Security in the Internet of Things*
*Scope and Aims*
Security, assurance and privacy challenges are abound. Advances in
information and communication technologies have brought many security
problems to the fore. Such problems may be technical in nature or
organizationally grounded. Whatever be the nature and scope of the security
problems, there is a need to engage in discourses pertaining to security,
assurance and privacy. To that effect we welcome participation in the
European Security Conference. Topic areas covered in the conference
include, but are not limited to the following:
- Cyber security in specific sectors (healthcare, banking, government
etc)

Betreff: [AISWorld] Final Reminder: SIIT 2015 - 9th Int. Conf. on
Standardization & Innovation in IT
Datum: Fri, 24 Apr 2015 06:46:43 +0200
Von: Kai Jakobs <kai.jakobs(a)cs.rwth-aachen.de>
Organisation: RWTH Aachen University
An: AISWorld <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
***With my apologies for cross-posting***
---------------------------------
DEADLINE (final): 1 May 2015*****
---------------------------------
Call for Papers
SIIT 2015
9th International Conference on Standardization and Innovation in Information Technology
6 - 8 October 2015, Sunnyvale, California, USA
Hosted by Synosys
http://www.IEEE-SIIT.org
Patrons:
Adobe, Charles River Associates, Huawei, Intel, San Jose State University
Conference Theme: Interoperability, Intellectual Property and Standards
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interoperability has never been more important than it is today. It can be achieved by design, following the market or through standardization. How does intellectual property impact interoperability? How do these factors interact with standardization? IEEE-SIIT 2015 will explore these, and other, important questions.
IEEE-SIIT conferences aim at bringing together academia, government and industry participants engaged in standardization to foster the exchange of insights and views on all issues surrounding standards, standardization, interoperability and innovation. Contributing academic disciplines include, but are not limited to: Business Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, History, Information Systems, Law, Management Studies and Sociology.
Topics
------
All types of papers (e.g., theoretical, empirical, case studies) are welcome that foster our understanding of interoperability, innovation and standards. Topics include, but are not limited to:
* Standardization and innovation
* Standards, intellectual property rights and antitrust law
* Open standards, open source, open innovation
* Standardization policies and regulation
* Standards in support of technology convergence
* Alternative interoperability strategies
* Adoption, implementation and diffusion of standards
* Standardization management and strategies
* Standards setting processes and organizations
* Economics of standards
* Impact of standards (e.g., on innovation, competition, or other aspects)
* Standards legitimacy
* Standards education
* History of standardization
* Standardization for developing countries
* Different regional and international standards regimes
A focus on intellectual property rights and standardization
-----------------------------------------------------------
IEEE-SIIT's strengths include addressing cross-discipline standards and standardization issues. IEEE-SIIT 2015 will focus on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their impact on standards and standardization as a cross-disciplinary issue. This is an opportunity to discuss not only the legal issues IPR creates, but the social (public good vs. private gain), technical (negotiation of IPR controlled features), Standards Development Organizations? (SDO) policies (Would a common SDO IPR policy help?), economic aspects (What is the cost of controlled IPR in a standard?), and government policy (Should patent examiners consider the impact of patents on standards?).
Paper Submissions
-----------------
IEEE-SIIT 2015 accepts submissions which must be original (unpublished) and follow IEEE formatting guidelines. Authors? names and affiliations should appear on a separate cover page only, which should also identify the type of the submission:
* Industry/Academic papers should not exceed 10 pages (including figures, references, etc.).
* Poster papers should not exceed 2 pages.
* Presentation papers, i.e. intended for presentation only. These will not be published in the conference proceedings or Xplore, in order to allow their publication elsewhere (relevant to certain fields of science). These should not exceed 10 pages (including figures, references, etc.).
To submit a paper, please use the EDAS submission server https://www.edas.info/newPaper.php?c=19023. All papers will undergo a double blind peer-review process. Authors may submit more than one paper, but each author will be allowed to present only one paper during the conference. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register with the conference and present the paper. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g. removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.
Industry/Academic papers that will be included in the conference proceedings, will be made available through IEEE Xplore. Their authors must comply with the IEEE policy on plagiarism including self-plagiarism; authors of papers accepted for publication will be asked to sign an IEEE Copyright Form. Outstanding papers will be considered for inclusion in the International Journal on IT Standards and Standardisation Research (IJITSR).
Important Dates
---------------
Submissions due: 1 May 2015
Notification of acceptance: 26 June 2015
Final paper due: 31 July 2015
All information about the conference will be announced at

34th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER 2015)
http://er2015.dsv.su.se/http://linkd.in/16297XM
October 19 - 22, 2015, Stockholm, Sweden
Call for Tutorials, Panels and Demos
The International Conference on Conceptual Modeling is the leading
international forum for presenting and discussing current research on
conceptual modeling. The topics of interest span the entire spectrum of
conceptual modeling including research and practice in areas such as:
theories of concepts underlying conceptual modeling, methods and tools
for developing and communicating conceptual models, techniques for
transforming conceptual models into effective implementations, and the
impact of conceptual modeling techniques on databases, business
strategies and information systems development.
We solicit tutorials, panels and demos for ER 2015.
Tutorials
The goal of a tutorial at the conference is to provide a road map (for
beginners or advanced attendees) about a subject area so that attendees
can then pursue work in that area if they are so inclined. They are
intended to provide independent instruction on a topic of relevance.
Generally, tutorials emphasize breadth and cover material from a variety
of different authors. The audience is generally varied from novice
students to practitioners and specialized researchers. The conference
strongly encourages proposals containing new ideas and new approaches,
or proposals on new subjects related to conceptual modeling.
Proposal deadline: 10 May 2015
http://er2015.dsv.su.se/call-for-papers-2/call-for-tutorials/
Panels
Panels should strive to represent all important viewpoints in the
proposed scientific debate. Panels that address practical use of
Conceptual Modeling are especially welcome. Panels about modeling of
both objects and process/activities/services at the conceptual level are
also encouraged.
Proposal deadline: 10 May 2015
http://er2015.dsv.su.se/call-for-papers-2/call-for-panels/
Demos
The ER 2015 Demo session complements the overall program of the
conference. It is designed to provide an exciting and highly interactive
way to demonstrate conceptual modeling research, and an excellent way to
advertise the applicability of the results and gather feedback from the
international conceptual modeling community. Proposals should be related
to the topics of interest of the main conference track and could include
computational environments and prototypes for conceptual modeling,
practical conceptual modeling projects, advances in applying conceptual
modeling, lessons learned, and late-breaking results of innovative use
of conceptual modeling techniques.
Proposal deadline: 10 May 2015

Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education
CALL FOR PAPERS Special issue on 'Identifying and Managing Critical
Success Factors of Online Education'
Guest Editors
Sean Eom, College of Business, Southeast Missouri State University
Nicholas J. Ashill, College of Business, American University of
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
J. B. (Ben) Arbaugh, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
Motivation and Background
We are entering a golden age of e-learning. E-learning could be at a
'Tipping Point' as American's trust in the quality of e-learning
grows, and the number of students who take at least one online course
continues to increase. Now is the time to make e-learning more
successful. The success of an e-learning system can be measured in
terms of learning outcomes and learner satisfaction, two dependent
constructs that have been widely accepted in the e-learning
literature. Learning outcomes are measured by progress on relevant
objectives set by the instructor including progress on gaining
factual knowledge, learning fundamental principles, and learning to
apply what is learned to improve problem solving. Learner
satisfaction is measured by the degree of satisfaction with perceived
outcomes of taking online courses, courses, and instructors.
This special issue is dedicated to identifying and effectively
managing critical success factors for e-learning that enable
e-learning outcomes to equal if not surpass those of face-to-face
instruction. Moreover, it seeks to draw on experience with e-learning
systems to provide direction for future developments in this domain.
Conceptual frameworks, qualitative research, and empirical studies in
the following areas are encouraged
* Review, critical analysis, and/or meta-analysis of past research to
evaluate the current state of e-learning and to guide future
directions for e-learning development
* Conceptual frameworks for e-learning
* Dimensions of e-learning systems
* Human dimension
* Students: Self-Motivation, Personality, Learning Styles
* Instructors as Facilitators, Motivators, Moderators
* Design dimension
* Learning models (Objectivism, Constructivism, Collaborativism,
Cognitive information processing, Socioculturalism)
* Course content, structure, and infrastructure
* Learning Management systems and Information technology
* Technology platforms and tools
* Security considerations
* Collaborative meetings and discussion tools
* Student-created instructional materials
* Learner control and self-regulated e learning
* Problem based learning
* Self-directed learning
* Impact of interactions on e-learning outcomes
* Instructor-student
* Student-student
* Student-content/learning management system
* Learning outcomes and learner satisfaction
* Development and validation of measurement instruments
