CALL FOR PAPERS
The 9th International Conference on Standardization and Innovation in Information Technology (IEEE-SIIT 2015)
6 - 8 October 2015, Sunnyvale, CA
Hosted by: Synopsis
Patrons: Charles River Associates, San Jose State University
Conference Theme: Interoperability, Intellectual Property and Standards
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interoperability has never been more important than it is today. It can be achieved by design, following the market or through standardization. How does intellectual property impact interoperability? How do these factors interact with standardization? IEEE-SIIT 2015 will explore these, and other, important questions.
IEEE-SIIT conferences aim at bringing together academia, government and industry participants engaged in standardization to foster the exchange of insights and views on all issues surrounding standards, standardization, interoperability and innovation. Contributing academic disciplines include, but are not limited to: Business Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, History, Information Systems, Law, Management Studies and Sociology.
Topics
------
All types of papers (e.g., theoretical, empirical, case studies) are welcome that foster our understanding of interoperability, innovation and standards. Topics include, but are not limited to:
* Standardization and innovation
* Standards, intellectual property rights and antitrust law
* Open standards, open source, open innovation
* Standardization policies and regulation
* Standards in support of technology convergence
* Alternative interoperability strategies
* Adoption, implementation and diffusion of standards
* Standardization management and strategies
* Standards setting processes and organizations
* Economics of standards
* Impact of standards (e.g., on innovation, competition, or other aspects)
* Standards legitimacy
* Standards education
* History of standardization
* Standardization for developing countries
* Different regional and international standards regimes
A focus on intellectual property rights and standardization
-----------------------------------------------------------
IEEE-SIIT's strengths include addressing cross-discipline standards and standardization issues. IEEE-SIIT 2015 will focus on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their impact on standards and standardization as a cross-disciplinary issue. This is an opportunity to discuss not only the legal issues IPR creates, but the social (public good vs. private gain), technical (negotiation of IPR controlled features), Standards Development Organizations? (SDO) policies (Would a common SDO IPR policy help?), economic aspects (What is the cost of controlled IPR in a standard?), and government policy (Should patent examiners consider the impact of patents on standards?).
Paper Submissions
-----------------
IEEE-SIIT 2015 accepts submissions which must be original (unpublished) and follow IEEE formatting guidelines. Authors? names and affiliations should appear on a separate cover page only, which should also identify the type of the submission:
* Industry/Academic papers should not exceed 10 pages (including figures, references, etc.).
* Poster papers should not exceed 2 pages.
* Presentation papers, i.e. intended for presentation only. These will not be published in the conference proceedings or Xplore, in order to allow their publication elsewhere (relevant to certain fields of science). These should not exceed 10 pages (including figures, references, etc.).
To submit a paper, please use the EDAS submission server https://www.edas.info/newPaper.php?c=19023.
All papers will undergo a double blind peer-review process. Authors may submit more than one paper, but each author will be allowed to present only one paper during the conference. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register with the conference and present the paper. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g. removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.
Industry/Academic papers that will be included in the conference proceedings, will be made available through IEEE Xplore. Their authors must comply with the IEEE policy on plagiarism including self-plagiarism; authors of papers accepted for publication will be asked to sign an IEEE Copyright Form. Outstanding papers will be considered for inclusion in the International Journal on IT Standards and Standardisation Research (IJITSR).

Betreff: [AISWorld] AMCIS 2015 CFP Mini-Track: Contemporary Issues in
Agile Development

AMCIS 2015 CFP: Mini-Track: Contemporary Issues in Agile Development
Track: Systems Analysis and Design
Peurto Rico, August 13-15, 2015
Agile manifesto, which introduced agile methodologies, is now more than
a decade old. During this period, these methodologies have seen
increased acceptance among software developers. This brings to the fore
a number of research issues—adoption and/or adaptation of agile methods,
agile project management, social aspects of agile development,
distributed agile development, scalability of agile methodologies, and
enterprise agility, to name but a few. The incorporation of myriad
practices, particularly those advocated by lean principles, has only
rendered the term "agility" more nebulous. Prospective research topics
include lean and agile practices and their synergies/differences, and
the role of agile/lean principles in facilitating flexible enterprise
architectures. Considering the rapid growth of agile development
practices, the Project Management Institute (PMI) recently introduced a
new certification program focused on agile project management. This is
expected to further consolidate and spread the use of agile development.
Some illustrative project management aspects of agile development in
need of research attention include cost and schedule
estimation/planning, resource allocation, risk management, and change
control management.
This mini-track will provide a forum for researchers to address
fundamental issues regarding agile development practices as well as
contemporary topics raised by its widespread acceptance and use.
Suggested Topics
·Agile project management versus traditional project management
·Knowledge Management in agile development
·"Agile methods in theory" versus "agile methods in practice"
·Decision-making and governance issues of agile development
·Self-organizing principles and practices of agile teams
·Integrating human-computer interaction (HCI) concepts with agile
development
·Economics of agile development
·Role of agile methods in large-scale, mission critical systems
·Scalability of agile projects
·Agile development in regulated environments
·Distributed agile development, challenges, risks, and opportunities
·Lean practices in agile development
·Synergies/differences between lean principles and agility
·Ability of agile practices to deal with project disruptions

Betreff: [AISWorld] AMCIS'2015 Minitrack Unintended Drivers and
Consequences of Technology Usage (2nd CfP)
Datum: Mon, 2 Feb 2015 20:09:29 +0000
Von: Laumer, Sven <sven.laumer(a)uni-bamberg.de>
An: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
*2nd Call for Papers*
*/21st Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS’15) /**//*
August 13-15, 2015, Puerto Rico
**
*Track:*Adoption and Diffusion of Information Technology (SIGADIT)
*Minitrack:*Unintended Drivers and Consequences of Technology Usage
*Minitrack chairs:*Sven Laumer, Christian Maier, University of Bamberg,
Germany
In line with the AMCIS 2015 theme “Blue Ocean IS Research” we call for
research that focuses on unintended drivers and consequences of
technology usage. By focusing on different technologies in a private or
workplace context, by providing novel theoretical perspective and by
using various research methodologies papers submitted to the AMCIS 2015
Mini Track on “Unintended Drivers and Consequences of Technology Usage”
should provide system developers and implementers new insights into
unintended phenomena related to technology usage. Research in the past
has identified several positive and intended drivers and consequences of
technology usage, which system designers have in mind when designing and
implementing technologies. They focus on system or information quality,
perceived ease of use and usefulness to increase individual and
organizational net benefits, productivity, adoption, usage, or user
satisfaction.
However, there is also research and practical observations that indicate
that technology usage is related to unintended and rather negative
drivers and that also some unintended behaviors and consequences can
occur. Unintended drivers include beliefs like information overload,
social overload, or dissatisfaction, unintended behaviors include user
resistance behaviors or the manifestation of workarounds, and unintended
consequences include stress, addiction, or employee turnover. These
unintended drivers and consequences are to some extent not covered by
the initial system design as they are rather unintended and occur when
the technology is implemented and used.
*Potential Topics:*
Therefore, the objective of this mini-track is to focus on unintended
drivers and consequences of technology usage to provide system
developers guidelines to avoid these rather negative aspects when
designing and implementing technologies. Papers might focus on one of
the following aspects, but are not limited to:
·Drivers and consequences of different types of user resistance behaviors
·User’s workarounds
·Organizational strategies to avoid user resistance
·Drivers and consequences of technostress
·Individual and organizational coping mechanisms to avoid technostress
·Drivers and consequences of technology addiction
·Strategies to address technology addiction
·Social influence on technology acceptance
·User personality and technology acceptance
·Privacy threats when using technology
We welcome different kinds of theoretical perspectives focusing on both
private and organizational usage of technology and its consequences for
individuals, organizations, and society by using various research
methodologies.

being carried out on various aspects of affective computing (e.g.,
affective labeling and retrieval, sentiment analysis from social media)
and personality computing (e.g., personality-based similarities,
personality-based user modeling). This work led to new corpora of MM
content annotated with affective and personality features that have not
been exploited thoroughly in multimedia retrieval so far. The workshop
goal is to bring together researchers who that exploit these new aspects
of multimedia for improving search and retrieval. The topics of interest
include, but are not limited to:
- affective analysis/labeling of multimedia content
- acquisition of personality and affect for MM retrieval
- relationship between personality and MM content through user preferences
- personalized and contextualized retrieval or recommendation
- affective- and personality-based multimedia similarity measures
- affective- and personality-based user interfaces for MR
- information visualization of affect and personality data
- mood regulation through multimedia
- evaluation of subjective satisfaction
- human factors for MR and recommendation
- datasets for affect- and personality-related retrieval/recommendation
We will seek opportunities to publish extended versions of selected
papers through a journal special issue.
Submissions must be original and not submitted to or accepted by any
other conference or journal. They should be prepared according to the
ICMR 2015 format (ACM style) and must not exceed 6 pages. The reviewing
process will be double blind. Therefore, authors must conceal their
identity (no author names, no affiliations, no acknowledgment of
sponsors, no direct references to previous work). The proceedings will
be published in the ACM Digital Library. Each paper will receive at
least 3 reviews by recognized experts in the field. Please use EasyChair
to submit your manuscripts:

Scope
The internet of things and services throws her showdows ahead as fourth industrial revolution after
mechanisation, electrification and information technology. On the basis of the central internet
infrastructure unexpected possibilities arise for producing enterprises.
New business segments and production options originate. Process structures and value added chains
can be highly dynamically and flexible linked up. New services in lifescience, marketing, and
government can originate. These new manufacturing possibilities and new lifesciences and other
services possibilities can be based on new sensor and imaging methods and use data mining and
image mining methods to originate and improve these processes.
The goals of this workshop are to:
provide a forum for identifying important contributions and opportunities for research
promote the systematic study of the Internet of Things and Services and
show case applications for Manufacturing and LifeSciences for B2ML.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
Internet Applications for Manufacturing, Health and LifeScience
Internet Applications that use Speech, Sensors, Images to Originate and Improving the Manufacturing,
Health and LifeScience
Performance Monitoring and Analysis along the value added chain
Methods for Integration and Monitoring of different Participants in the Value added Chain
Methods for Learning the Customer Behavior and adaptive Sales Planning
Workshop Format
In this workshop we intend to bring scientists together and actively identify common research threads,
define open problems, and develop collaborative contacts. We aimed at providing an informal atmosphere
where participants are encouraged to ask clarifying questions throughout the talks and to participate
in longer discussions after each presentation.
Since we anticipate varied backgrounds of the participants, we will encourage speakers to present their
work from a big-picture perspective and to clearly identify key issues in their research before they dive
into technical details.
A wrap-up round table discussion will summarize the lessons learnt, issues identified, and future directions.

-----------------------Call for Papers----------------------------
The 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud
(FiCloud 2015)
24-26 August 2015, Rome, Italy
http://www.ficloud.org/2015/
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The Internet of Things (IoT) vision is to provide a dynamic and global
network infrastructure which is characterized by intelligent and self
configuring capabilities. IoT is considered as an integral part of the
future Internet. It is based on interoperable communication protocols in
order to enable the interaction and integration of virtual as well as
physical Things such as computers, smart devices, sensors, cars,
refrigerators, food packages, medicines, etc. Things can be seamlessly
integrated into the information network and interaction can be made
through the provision of intelligent interfaces. In not so distant
future, IoT will be forcing its way into every aspect of our lives and
technologies including smart homes, smart cities, environment and
nature, green energy, food, medicine, automotive, aerospace and
aviation, telecommunication, and so on.
IoT is generally characterized by real world and small Things, limited
capacity, constrained devices and the consequential issues such as less
reliability, security and privacy. Cloud computing on the other hand
deals mainly with virtual world and has unlimited capabilities in terms
of storage and processing power. Thus cloud and IoT are the main
complementary aspects of the future Internet. IoT can benefit from the
unlimited capabilities and resources of cloud computing. Similarly,
cloud can benefit from IoT by extending its scope to deal with real
world things in a more distributed and dynamic manner.
The theme of this conference is to promote the state of the art in
scientific and practical research of the IoT and cloud computing. It
provides a forum for bringing together researchers and practitioners
