In the age of data centric services with allocating data in the cloud, data analysis, protection and trust have additionally raised the economic aspects of security and privacy. State-of-the-art business intelligence offers new possibilities which so far are not included into data privacy consideration, data outsourced in the cloud requires adaption of existing models of attack in which trust into the security features of the cloud provider becomes the major issue. Security and privacy have converted into the question who has the control not only over the data but also over the involved business processes. New types of applications grow from data but are also responsible for new types of risks. The track seeks contributions to data privacy and security but also to chances and risks of security and privacy in innovative application fields, such as big data, industry 4.0, energy management, smart grid or control over money flow. *Topics* Authors are invited to submit novel contributions in the above mentioned problem domains. Currently, human-computer interaction is present in any software and technological device and interface design has become a critical aspect in the development, because it is one of the main factors that influence the success and competitiveness of software applications. So, we can say that an interactive system is not only judged by its ability to conduct operations, but also for its ability to properly communicate to the user. The evolution of interfaces and interaction styles (Preece, 1994) have led to different interactive paradigms throughout the history of computing, where the most known are desktop computer, virtual reality, augmented reality and ubiquitous computing. Technological advances led to a new generation of interactive systems, such as multimedia or virtual reality environments. The effect of leading interaction "beyond the desktop" bring new questions and challenges involved and make us consider new phenomena and issues. From the last ten years, the interfaces became mobile, cooperative, collaborative and social, tangible and tactile, gestural (multimodal), hybrid, augmented and controlled by the brain (brain computing). At present, computers are designed to be "embedded" within the environment and therefore, it is necessary to rethink the interaction between the person and the computer in this context (Lytras, Ordoñez & García-Peñalvo, 2013). The new user interface and new interaction paradigms have created new styles of communication and interaction with the user, and present new challenges for researchers and designers of interactive systems to improve user experience and communicability with the system. Moreover, while field of human-computer interaction (HCI) is growing maturing, engineering approaches become more important (Sutcliffe, 2005). In HCI, systems approaches are extensive, remarking different areas of interest, such as structured methodologies for interactive system design (Fischer, 2012) and evaluation and methods, processes, languages, models and tools to improve interactive systems (Jacko, 2011; Memmel, 2009). So, this special issue aims to bring together research, relevant experiences and contributions to the area of human-computer interaction. Specifically, the topic will be studied from systems approach, identifying possible solutions to the challenges on development of interactive systems. Objective This special issue has the aim of promoting and spreading the recent advances in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), both academic and industry level, from a software engineering perspective and system approach. The advent of HTML 5, the increasing importance of AJAX and client-side scripting, the explosion of Web-based Social Networks as well as the advent of the Federated Social Web, the new frontiers of Semantic Web are only some examples of this general trend. Web applications are progressively evolving into rich and flexible environments where users can easily access documents, publish content, listen to music, watch videos, draw pictures, and play directly via browser. This class of ubiquitous software systems is gaining momentum and fosters the evolution of new ways for people to interact and cooperate. Novel approaches and techniques, new tools and frameworks are needed to address the increasing complexity of these applications. Paper registration for the conference is required and allows the paper to be printed in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for the paper to be included in the ACM/IEE digital library. No-show of scheduled papers will result in excluding the papers from the ACM/IEEE digital library. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work to an international journal. Student Research Competition (SRC) Program ========================================== Graduate students are invited to submit research abstracts, of 2 pages in length (ACM format), thought the START Submission system. Submission of the same abstract to multiple tracks is not allowed. Submissions must address original and unpublished research work related to the track, with emphasis on the innovation behind the research idea. All research abstract submissions will be reviewed by researchers and practitioners with expertise in the track to which they are submitted. Authors of selected abstracts will have the opportunity to share their research work through poster and oral presentations and compete for the three top winning places. The SRC committee will evaluate the posters and oral presentations and select first, second, and third place winners. The winners will receive medals, cash awards, and SIGAPP recognition certificates during the conference banquet dinner. Invited authors will receive $500 from ACM toward their travel to SAC. Furthermore, invited authors are eligible to apply for the SIGAPP Student Travel Award Program (STAP) for support. The top three winners can proceed to the ACM National SRC Program for the grand finals. Paper Submission ================ Original papers from the above-mentioned or other related areas will be considered. This includes three categories of submissions: 1. original and unpublished research; 2. reports of innovative computing applications in the arts, sciences, engineering, business, government, education and industry; 3. reports of successful technology transfer to new problem domains. Each submitted paper will undergo a blind review process and will be refereed by at least three referees. Accepted papers in all categories will be published in the ACM SAC 2015 proceedings. The camera-ready version of the accepted paper should be prepared using the ACM format (guidelines are given on the SAC 2015 web site). Accepted full papers should not exceed 6 pages in a double column format (with the option, at additional expense of USD 80 per page, to add 2 more pages). The primary emphasis is on papers that advance the understanding of practical, applied, or pragmatic issues related to the use of Collaborative Computing technologies in industry and government and highlight new research challenges arising from attempts to create such real applications. Applications can be in any field including, but not limited to: e-commerce, medical and pharmaceutical, defense, public policy, finance, engineering, environment, manufacturing, telecommunications, and government. The Industry/Government Track will consist of competitively-selected contributed papers. Submitters must clearly identify in which of the following sub-areas their paper should be evaluated as distinct review criteria will be used to evaluate each category of submission. - Deployed: Deployed systems that are providing real value to industry, Government, or other organizations or professions.
