Special Call of the Semantic Web journal for
LINKED DATASET DESCRIPTIONS
Linked Data is a key enabler for the Semantic Web vision and one of the
steps towards a truly "Semantic Web".
The Semantic Web journal calls for brief papers (usually about 5-8
pages) containing a concise description of a Linked Dataset. The paper
shall describe in concise and clear terms key characteristics of the
dataset as a guide to its usage for various (possibly unforeseen)
purposes. In particular, such a paper shall typically give information,
amongst others, on the following aspects of the dataset (if applicable).
Name, URL, versioning, licensing, availability
Topic coverage, source for the data
Purpose of the Linked Dataset, e.g. demonstrated by relevant
queries or inferences over it
Applications using the dataset and other metrics of use
Creation, maintenance and update mechanisms as well as policies to
ensure sustainability and stability
Quality, quantity and purpose of links to other datasets
Domain modeling and use of established vocabularies
Examples and critical discussion of typical knowledge modeling
patterns used
Known shortcomings of the dataset
A discussion of the dataset in the context of the Five Stars of
Linked Data Vocabulary Use,
<http://www.semantic-web-journal.net/content/five-stars-linked-data-vocabula…>
Papers will be evaluated along the following dimensions: quality of the
dataset, usefulness (or potential usefulness) of the dataset, as well as
clarity and completeness of the descriptions.
Papers should usually be written by people involved in the generation or
maintenance of the dataset, or with the consent of these people.
Prospective authors must take notice of the submission guidelines posted
at http://www.semantic-web-journal.net/authors.
Past dataset descriptions which were already accepted for publication
are available for perusal at
<http://www.semantic-web-journal.net/accepted-datasets>; see also the
editorial of the first SWJ special issue with linked dataset
descriptions, available at
<http://www.semantic-web-journal.net/content/linked-data-big-data-and-4th-pa…>.
Authors should note, though, that requirements and expectations have
somewhat evolved since previous calls.
Deadlines:
Paper submission: September 30, 2014. Extensions can be granted upon
request.
Notification: usually within 8 weeks of submission

TRACK DESCRIPTION
Business Process Management (BPM) has evolved into a widely deployed and comprehensively studied discipline. BPM comprises activities such as the identification, definition and modeling of business processes, their implementation and execution, monitoring, mining and control as well as continuous and disruptive process improvements. Enterprise-wide, it requires capabilities such as governance, methods, information technology, culture, people, and strategic alignment. In the networked society, however, business processes will increasingly span and be embedded in larger digital, ubiquitous ecosystems consisting not only of corporate players, but also including empowered citizens and a variety of physical things (Internet of Things). These developments require extensions of the current BPM capabilities and of our understanding of the related opportunities, challenges, and theories. Thus, this track aims to create a forum for the reflection on the current status of BPM as much as an exploration of the future research needs. We are open to a wide variety of research approaches including quantitative and qualitative, empirical, conceptual and analytical approaches such as case studies, action research, surveys, experiments, design science-oriented, and economic research.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
The track focuses on (but is not limited to) topics such as:
* The role of BPM in the networked society
* Citizen- and customer-driven process management
* Business Processes and BPM as a Service

*SoSyM Theme Issue: The Human Perspective in Business Processes*
The BPMDS (Business Process Modeling, Development and Support) series in
conjunction with CAiSE focuses on business processes and their IT
support -one of the keystones of information systems theory- since 1998.
BPMDS solicits papers related to Business Process Modeling, Development
and Support (BPMDS) in general. To encourage new and emerging challenges
and research directions in the area of business process modeling,
development and support, we have a unique focus theme every year for the
idea papers. The focus theme for BPMDS'2014 idea papers was:
/ The human perspective in Business Processes/
The human perspective is of essence since humans direct business
processes rather than computers. It plays a major role in all phases of
BPMDS. The human perspective in business process modeling relates to the
individual who creates a process model, to the communication among
people that is facilitated by the business process model during and
after the modeling process, and to the social process of collaborative
modeling. The human perspective in business process design relates to
the kind of interaction / collaboration / coordination / cooperation
that should to be implemented in the business process or to specific
human-related aspects of the business process itself and their
representations in models. The human perspective in business process
support relates to all social aspects of the business process and its
management in an organization.
The Journal of Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM)
(http://www.sosym.org/) invites original, high-quality submissions for
its theme issue on "The Human Perspective in Business Processes (BP)"
focusing on topics related to BPMDS, including:
- /*Business Process Modeling*/: multi-perspectives on BP modeling,
representations of humans in BP models, actor-driven (vs activity
driven) representations of BPs, variability and adaptability of BP
models, BP modeling enhanced by social software and social networks.
- */Business Process Support/*: BP change management and governance
issues, BP support combined with social software and social networks,
actor support vs control support in BPs, enhancing creativity in BPs,
mobile technologies and context aware BPs.
- /*Requirements on Business Processes*/: flexibility, variability,
adaptability, knowledge-intensive business processes, context aware
business processes, cross-organizational business processes compliance,
reliability, security, performance.

DESCRIPTION
The generation of knowledge from data can likely be seen as one of the
key contributions of any science. Consequently, scholars like Whetten
(1989), Steinfield and Fulk (1990), and Blalock (1969) have emphasized
the centrality of theories for any scientific endeavor -- a thought
widely reflected in many disciplines from natural to social sciences
(Atmanspacher 2007). While this attention to theoretical work has been
at the heart of the IS discipline for a long time (cf. Keen 1980), we
believe that advanced theorizing in an increasingly networked society
calls for a dedicated discussion on the evolution of existing
methodological and conceptual approaches to theorizing. Particularly the
growing connection of individuals and groups with other people and
organizations forces us to pay attention to complexity and contingencies
that create opportunities and challenges for the careful development of
new theories.
Recently we have seen some of our reference disciplines turn towards
reviving their own examination of theories and theoretical work and
their role in producing high quality scholarly contributions (e.g., in
management research). It is this rekindled interest that leads us to
suggest that the IS discipline, too, should intensify its discussion of
theory and theorizing above and beyond such landmark papers as Gregor's
(2006) influential piece on the role of theory in IS research, Urquhart
et al.'s (2010) guidelines for theory building, Weber's (2012) treatment
of quality of theories and theorizing, or Straub's (2012) discussion on
native IS theories.
This track is targeted towards picking up this debate. It provides a
platform for the discussion and development of new approaches to
theorizing as well as new methods to inform this theorizing. We also
want to engage in a differentiated discussion on the nature and role of
our theorizing in our discipline in order to advance our understanding
of the "networked society."
We seek submissions that are innovative, novel, and significant in terms
of advancing our discipline's ability to theorize phenomena in the
networked society. We place particular emphasis on a submission's
ability to highlight how it helps us as a discipline to better describe,
explain, predict, and design these phenomena. The latter requires
special considerations. Following the classic work of Simon (1981),
artifacts have an inside and outside view and we encourage specific
consideration of both. In methodological contributions, we encourage
potential authors to elaborate on what in the phenomena we study can now
be captured better and how and why the method suggested is able to do
that. Authors of methodological pieces are encouraged to carefully
reflect on issues of epistemology in their work. In theoretical pieces,
we will look not only for novel ideas, but also for a careful
integration with what is known already and how and why the new
contribution advances existing nomological nets.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Conceptual advances in theories for IS research
* New theories on phenomena of the networked society
* Significant advances or critiques of existing theories (e.g.,
innovative or substantially improved construct conceptualizations or
meaningful extensions through additional constructs)
* Exploration of multi-level aspects extending existing theories
* Integration / synthesis of existing theories
* Detailed application of existing theories to inform design and action
(e.g., formal verification, design theories, as well as exploring the
interaction between technology artifact and humans)
* Reflections on theories-in-practice and what we can learn from their
application
Methodological advances in theorizing about IS phenomena
* New or advanced methods for data collection with an emphasis on what
kind of data they contribute beyond conventional methods as well as a
discussion of how and why this advances our theorizing
* New or refined methods of data analysis (i.e., theorizing, theory
building) with an emphasis on a comparison to established approaches and
a discussion of how and why they advance our theorizing
* Strategies for inductive theorizing and the building of substantive
theories grounded in an IS context
* The interplay of theory and design and how engaged forms of scholarly
work help to advance our discipline theoretically
* A constructive critique of existing methods and an identification of
impacts on and limits to current theorizing
The nature and role of theoretical contributions of IS research
* An analysis of the current state-of-the-art of the discipline's theorizing
* Reflections on what can be learned from reference disciplines
* Frameworks and typologies for theories and theoretical work in IS
SPONSORSHIP
Our track collaborates closely with the European Journal of Information
Systems (EJIS). Based on the reviews and editorial recommendations, the
authors of the best papers submitted to the track will be invited to
participate in the EJIS paper development workshop immediately after the
ECIS conference. There, authors will have the opportunity to further
develop their papers for consideration as part of a planned EJIS special
issue building upon the track.

evaluated as distinct review criteria will be
used to evaluate each category of submission.
- Deployed: Deployed systems that are providing real value to industry,
Government, or other organizations or
professions. These deployed systems should point out how they explicitly
leverage Collaborative Computing
technologies or describe either qualitatively (lessons learned,
deployment experiences, etc.) or quantitatively
the impact of using Collaborative Computing technologies for enhancing
operational systems.
- Emerging: Emerging applications and technology must have clear user
interest and demonstrable value to Industry,
Government, or other users (e.g., scientific or medical professions) to

CALL FOR PAPERS
*****************************************************************************
2nd International Workshop on Risk Assessment and Risk-driven Testing (RISK)
*****************************************************************************
http://www.fokus.fraunhofer.de/en/fokus_events/sqc/risk_2014/
In conjunction with the 25th IEEE International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE)
Workshop Motivation
********************
The continuous rise of software complexity with increased functionality and accessibility of software and electronic components leads to an ever-growing demand for techniques to ensure software quality, dependability and security. The risks that software systems do not meet their intended level of quality can have severe impact on vendors, customers and even - when it comes to critical systems and infrastructures - our daily life. The precise understanding of risks, as well as the focused treatment of risks, has become one of the corner stones for critical decision within complex social and technical environments. Even nowadays software testing is based on risk-driven decisions
However, classical test approaches address risks rather implicitly than systematically. Systems, functions, or modules, which are known to be critical, are tested more intensively than others. The basis of such kind of test planning is often a very simple and unstructured risk assessment, which usually is performed during or in the preparation of the test process. However, we know that humans are great in planning technical environments and processes, but often fail when it comes to the intuitive estimation of related risk.
This workshop addresses systematic approaches that combine risk assessment and testing. We are interested in innovative techniques, tools and methods from industry or research, that cover systematic risk assessment, whether to obtain risk-optimized test configurations and specifications, to underpin risk analyzes by means of experimental data from test results, or to enable domain-specific solutions that address specific kinds of risk (e.g. safety risks, security risks, business risks, legal risks).
Workshop Objectives
*******************
The objective of the workshop is to bring together industry and science by providing a platform for discussion, interaction and collaboration. Industrial papers should either describe challenges of system or software testing that could trigger future research activities or present comparable results of applying techniques for risk analysis or risk-based testing. Research papers are expected to present promising ideas or possible solutions to industrial challenges in the field of risk-based quality assurance. Submitted papers should cover at least one of the following topics:
* Languages for capturing risk information
* Formal and semi-formal risk analysis techniques (e.g., FTA, FMEA, etc.)
* Continuous risk assessment and testing
* Risk-based/risk-oriented testing (including formal verification techniques)
* Test-based risk assessment
* Best practices/methodologies for integrating risk analysis and testing
* Support of standard-compliant quality assurance by risk-based testing (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262, Common Criteria)
* Verification and validation of safety-/security-critical systems
* Risk-based testing with model-based technologies
* Risk-based test automation and tool support
* Quality and quality improvement of risk-based test models
* Limitations and restrictions of integrated risk analysis and testing, its costs and economic impact
* Traceability and management of integrated risk analysis and testing
* Experience reports and industrial case studies
* Legal risk management
* Risk assessment to support regulatory compliance
* Intended Paper Format
Paper Format
*************
All contributions to RISK have to be submitted electronically in PDF format via EasyChair. All submissions have to follow the ISSRE format, i.e. IEEE style. We are soliciting two kinds of submissions:
* Long paper (6 pages): This format will be used for papers on original research results in the domain of risk assessment and risk-driven testing..
* Short paper (3 pages): This format will be used for papers on novel techniques, ideas and positions that have yet to be fully developed.
Submissions have to be submitted via EasyChair.
All submitted papers which conform to the intended paper format will be peer-reviewed by at least three independent reviewers.
