Call for Papers of the Special Session on Evolution of Social Networks - ESN 2012
Under the framework of the 4th International Conference on Computational Aspects of Social Networks (CASoN 2012), 21-23 November 2012 in São Carlos, Brazil
Objectives
In recent years, research in area of social network analysis grows rapidly, mainly thanks to the prevalence of the large-scale social network systems. These social network systems can be characterized by complex network structures and extensive content. Social network analysis can be applied to static or dynamic types of problems. The current research is mainly focused on analysis of topological properties and dynamic properties corresponding to evolution of networks and communities. Contextual information can help in analyzing these properties.
Social network data comes mainly from many on-line services. The huge quantity of data can be consisting of millions of vertices and edges. Given the scale, complexity and dynamics, the traditional methods of social network analysis cannot be easily used. It becomes crucial for researchers to understand the dynamics of these networks. It is important to predict the next evolution and analyze trends in the network. Other current directions of research are detection of communities and analysis of community evolution in large social networks, content (topic) evolution, information diffusion in social networks, etc.
Specific topics of interest
To address the aforementioned aspects of evolution of social networks, the preferred topics for this special session are (but not limited to):
• Community detection and evolution
• Role detection and evolution in social networks
• Content evolution and Information diffusion in social networks
• Trend prediction in social networks
• Anomaly detection in social network evolution
• Mining dynamics and evolution patterns of social networks
• Mining of user behavior patterns in social networks
• Analysis of co-authorship and citation networks and evolution of research topics
• Evolution in collaborative environments, wikis, e-learning systems, …
• Case studies and applications from the area of social network dynamics and evolution
• Social network data pre-processing
• Evaluation techniques and benchmarks
Submission
Special Session paper submission will be done through CASoN 2012 submission system and been evaluated with the same standard as the regular conference paper. All accepted papers will be included in the CASoN 2012 conference proceedings.
Papers must be submitted within the stipulated time and electronic submission in PDF is required. A full paper (6 pages, A4 size) for oral presentation should in the IEEE 8.5 two-column format. Betreff: [AISWorld] Chapters addressing ITSM and intelligent DSS/DMSS
are welcome!

Von: mmora(a)securenym.net

Call for Chapters,
Bbook on: "Engineering and Management of IT-based Service Systems: an
Intelligent Decision-making Support Systems Approach"
Book series:
"Intelligent Systems Reference Library"
Springer-Verlag, London Ltd
http://www.springer.com/series/8578
BOOK?S RATIONALE:
A service economy has been recognized as the dominant paradigm in present
times (Chesbrough and Spohrer 2006). Such a service-oriented worldview
demands new engineering and management scientific (both fundamental and
applied) knowledge to cope with the planning, design, building, operation
and evaluation (including the disposal of non adequate) IT-based service
systems (IfM and IBM 2008). Furthermore, several ITSM process models
and standards are available (ITIL v2, ITIL v3, ISO/IEC 20000, CMMI-SVC,
ITUP, MOF 4.0, and CobIT 5.0). Such challenges emerge from the paradigm
shift from a product-based manufacturing economy to this new
service-oriented one (Dermikan et al. 2011). In turn, Intelligent
Decision-Making Support Systems (i-DMSS/DSS) are specialized IT-based
systems that support some or several phases of the individual, team,
organizational or inter-organizational decision making process by
deploying some or several intelligent mechanisms (Forgionne et al. 2002;
Phillips-Wren et al. 2009). In particular, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
has been recognized as a significant enhancement tool for DMSS (Goul et
al. 1992; Eom, 1998) since several decades. However, the utilization of
i-DMSS/DSS for engineering and management of IT-based service systems is
still scarce. We believe that fostering its research and utilization is
relevant and needed for advancing the progress of IT-service systems.
Consequently, in this book will pursue to following academic aims: (i)
generate a compendium of quality theoretical and applied contributions in
Intelligent Decision-Making Support Systems (i-DMSS) for engineering and
management IT-based service systems (ITSS); (ii) diffuse scarce knowledge
about foundations, architectures and effective and efficient methods and
strategies for successfully planning, designing, building, operating, and
evaluating i-DMSS for ITSS, and (iii) create an awareness of, and a bridge
between ITSS and i-DMSS academicians and practitioners in the current
complex and dynamic engineering and management ITSS organizational (Mora
et al. 2011).

Call for Papers on Cloud Computing
For a Special Issue of International Journal of Computers and Their
Applications - IJCA
[A printer-friendly version of the CFP is available at
http://www2.cs.siu.edu/~dche/IJCA13/IJCA-CFP-Cloud.pdf]
Cloud Computing represents the most recent major shift in computing and
Information Technology strategy. The "Cloud" is a natural evolution of
distributed computing and of the widespread adaption of virtualization and
SOA. In Cloud Computing, IT-related capabilities and resources are provided
as services, via the Internet and with essential characteristics such as
on-demand, elasticity, metered services, and rapid provision (without
requiring detailed knowledge of the underlying technology). The
International Journal of Computers and Their Applications - IJCA (
<http://www.isca-hq.org/journal.htm> http://www.isca-hq.org/journal.htm) has
scheduled a special issue (tentatively as the 2013 September issue of 2013)
on Cloud Computing, and is calling for papers regarding any issues related
to Cloud Computing.
This special issue will be guest-edited by Dr. Dunren Che (
<http://www2.cs.siu.edu/~dche/> http://www2.cs.siu.edu/~dche/) at Southern
Illinois University Carbondale ( <http://www.siu.edu/> http://www.siu.edu/).
Interested authors please submit your manuscripts as email attachment (pdf
files) to Dr. Che at <mailto:dhce@cs.siu.edu> dhce(a)cs.siu.edu before Dec.
1st, 2012. Authors are recommended to prepare their manuscripts according to
the journal's Instruction for Authors (available at
<http://www.isca-hq.org/j-authr.htm> http://www.isca-hq.org/j-authr.htm),
but format in the final two-column format (sample available at
<http://www.cs.siu.edu/~dche/IJCA13-speical-issue-on-cloud/IJCA_sample_artic
le.pdf>
http://www.cs.siu.edu/~dche/IJCA13-speical-issue-on-cloud/IJCA_sample_articl
e.pdf). Recommended paper length is 10 - 12 pages in the final two-column
format. All manuscripts received will go through the strict review process
as required by the journal. The guest editor would like to conduct a blind
review process and thus requires authors to hide their identity information
from their manuscripts.
