Dear Gustaf Neumann,
IJCCI 2012 welcomes the submission of position papers whose deadline is set for next June 14.
This meeting takes place yearly, bringing together top researchers and practitioners in computational technologies, especially those related to Fuzzy Computation, Evolutionary Computation and Neural Computation.
The three main topic areas have been defined as concurrent and co-located sub-conferences of IJCCI, namely:
- Fuzzy Computation Theory and Applications (http://www.fcta.ijcci.org/)
- Evolutionary Computation Theory and Applications (http://www.ecta.ijcci.org/)
- Neural Computation Theory and Applications (http://www.ncta.ijcci.org/)
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics.
The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper" or "poster".
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers (full, short and posters) will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support. IDFR
A short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a SCI Series book.
The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and EI (Elsevier Index).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).
We would like to highlight the presence of the following keynote speakers:
- Yaroslav D. Sergeyev, University of Calabria, Italy
- Reinhard Viertl, Vienna University of Technology, Austria

InfoSecCD seeks to give academicians, researchers and
practitioners a unique opportunity to share their
perspectives with others interested in the various aspects
of Information Security Curriculum Development. Papers
offering novel research contributions in any aspect of
information security education are solicited for submission
to the 2012 Information Security Curriculum Development
Conference. The primary focus is on quality original
unpublished research, case studies, and implementation
experiences. Papers should have practical relevance to the
design, development, implementation and best-practices in
information security education -- for the Pedagogy track and
for best-practices in the design, implementation and
management of information security for the Practices Track.
Theoretical papers must make convincing argument for the
practical significance of the results. Theory must be
justified by compelling examples illustrating its
application. The primary criterion for appropriateness is
demonstrated practical relevance. The conference will
include three tracks: pedagogy, practice, and student.
In order to be considered a student paper, and thus eligible
for the best student paper award, the paper must be authored
*exclusively* by students. Any paper submitted as a student
paper with a non-student co-author will be reclassified as
either pedagogy or practice and is eligible for the best
paper award, but not the best student paper award.
Note: Work in Progresses can be accepted if substantial
progress and expected completion by conference date is
demonstrated.

CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Proposal Submission Deadline: July 1st, 2012
Frameworks of IT Prosumption for Business System Development
A book edited by Prof. Dr. Malgorzata Pankowska
University of Economics, Katowice-Poland
To be published by IGI Global:
http://www.igi-global.com/requests/details.asp?ID=409
Introduction
In an original economy, the producers were consumers and the surplus of
their production was sold by them on the market. However, because of work
dividing, science and technology development, and specialization in the
Modern Age, the producers have provided goods and services to the market.
However, for some people there is still a dilemma: make or buy. This
dilemma allows us to talk about prosumer as an active consumer.
In IT sector, the problem of active users and their activities support was
known since the beginning of business information systems development. The
question concerning the role of end-user in information systems
development returns from time to time.
Presently, innovations are less dependent on in-house specialized research
and development activities. IT companies accept the strategy of openness.
Customers play a central role as innovators. The Information Technology is
open. The emergence of knowledge markets as mechanisms for enabling,
supporting, and facilitating the mobilization, sharing, or exchange of
information and knowledge ensures the appropriate conditions for the
activation of a wide spectrum of innovators. The book is going to
integrate a complexity of issues concerning the development of IT tools
and methods which would increase the end-users involvement in IT usage.
Objective of the Book
This book will aim to provide relevant theoretical frameworks and the
latest empirical research findings in the area of Information Technology
prosumption. It will be written by and for professionals who want to
improve the general understanding of the strategy of openness of IT firms.
The general mission of this book is as follows: Assuming that end-users
are involved in information system development process the new
methodologies, tools are needed to extend the role of end-user in the
development process as well as to create opportunities to develop their
own application for their own use.
The book aims to mobilize users to more active usage of IT and to
stimulate software firms to create new software products for active users.
So far, well known information system development methodologies were
realized in the producer interests and passively involved the users.
However, JAD (Joint Application Development) methods, and lately arrived
user experience (UX) approach, user-centered development (UCD) process are
going to emphasize the end -user roles. Particularly, in e-business,
users behave as prosumers and they are interested in methods and IT tools
supporting their activities. Therefore, the potential authors are
challenged to reveal the research results of IT user-driven demands as
well as IT tools and methods for application development by end-users and
for them.
Target Audience
The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and
researchers working in the field of information systems in various
disciplines, e.g. computer science and information technology, end-user
support management, IPR politics, innovation management and marketing.
Academic researchers, students as well as practitioners (IS analysts and
designers) will be interested in this book. The book will help them to
rethink how end-user could be activated and how IT firms could be
encouraged to develop new products for active users.
Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• impact of user innovation on the broad economic environment, by example
Web 2.0 initiatives development, Health 2.0, Learning 2.0 Enterprise 2.0
Government 2.0 etc.
• openness of Information and IT resources i.e., software, content, maps,
economic consequences of access to open information resources,
• the legal regulatory environment for open innovativeness,
• intellectual property rights management to appropriate the results of
the users' intellectual investments,
• taxation in an economy having a direct bearing on innovative activity.
• the role of lead users in IT systems development and efficiency increase
(optimization)
• reasons of cooperation with end users in IT governance processes
• advantages of customer involvement in the production process,
• social network and internet communities expertise in a specific field
and their role in innovation development process.
• exploring user engagement in user-generated content websites,
• co-creation experience between users and software firms,
• open business model development, where the absorption of external
resources for value creation is permitted.
• user-centered development (UCD) process focused on active user
involvement,
• user experience (UX) approach for end-user activation,
• user-driven IT innovation within open innovativeness environment,
• Decision Support Systems (DSSs) development methods and tools for end-users
Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 1st,
2012, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and
concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals
will be notified by July 20th, 2012 about the status of their proposals
and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by
October 31, 2012. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a
double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as
reviewers for this project.

Subject: [WI] CFP RFID Web of Things
Date: Wed, 06 Jun 2012 15:02:13 -0000
From: sender(a)ekimelu.com
To: wi(a)aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de
Call for Papers: RFID: towards Ubiquitous Computing & the
Web of Things
The Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce
Research is planning a special issue on RFID: towards
Ubiquitous Computing & the web of Things.
Guest editors; Ygal Bendavid, Samuel Fosso Wamba, and Joseph
Barjis
Continuous improvements in technological performance,
combined with maturing applications and decreasing prices
have contributed to the pervasive adoption of Automated
Identification Technology such as bar codes and Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Following its
incubation period, today RFID technology adoption can be
seen in various domains making its diffusion global and
cross industries and national borders. Over the last 10
years, RFID application is witnessing a significant growth
in almost each sector. RFID Item-Level Tagging (ILT)
initiatives are extensively deployed in sectors such as
apparel and footwear - with companies such as Gerry Weber
International, American Apparel, Macy, JC Penney, and
Wal-Mart leading the movement. Adoption of RFID is closely
related to various concepts such as Ubiquitous computing
(Ubi-comp), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Web of Things
(WoT) or the Web of Things and People (WoTaP), where a
tagged object can communicate electronically, in real time,
with its environment through the global infrastructure of
wireless Internet. As sensors and intelligence are added to
physical objects, this opens the way to innovative
electronic commerce business models and transformation of
modern enterprises and their relationship with their
constituencies. Effective application and adoption of these
new models and technologies pose a host of research
questions requiring scientific intervention.
This special issue of JTAER aims to gather new theoretical
and/or qualitative-empirical results addressing some of
these research questions. While contributions in the domain
of e-commerce/e-business are welcome, technical aspects of
RFID (e.g., RFID circuit or antennas designs, modulation
schemes for RFID, RFID electromagnetic field measurements)
are not within the scope.
Subject Coverage
Relevant topics in the domain of electronic commerce,
electronic business, and technology-driven enterprise
transformation to be addressed in this issue might include,
but are not limited to the following.
1. RFID enabled e-commerce business models
• RFID & the EPC Network
• RFID & The Internet of Things (IoT)
• RFID & Ubiquitous Computing (Ubi-Comp) / Pervasive computing
• RFID and the Web of Things (WoT)/ Web of Things and People
(WoTaP)
2. RFID-enabled enterprise and network transformation
• RFID-enabled electronic business models
• RFID-enabled Web Service modeling and management
• RFID-enabled e-commerce processes
3. RFID-enabled e-Supply Chain Management (eSCM)
• RFID enabled e-logistic management
• RFID enabled Tracking & Tracing in the e-supply chain
• Real time data capture in the e-supply chain: applications
and implications
4. RFID operational business intelligence
• RFID data management & analytics for supporting e-commerce
practices
• RFID and ambient intelligence & distributed computing
• RFID Embedded Smart Objects
5. Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and e-commerce
applications.
• NFC e-commerce adoption
• NFC e-commerce & M-commerce based applications
6. Focused empirical studies, on specific topics within the
field of RFID
• Empirical studies of adopters using RFID to support B2B
e-commerce transactions
• Case Studies of RFID e-commerce enabled applications and
implications
Notes for Intending Authors

An important mission of the congress is "Providing a unique platform for
a diverse community of constituents composed of scholars, researchers,
developers, educators, and practitioners. The Congress makes concerted
effort to reach out to participants affiliated with diverse entities
(such as: universities, institutions, corporations, government agencies,
and research centers/labs) from all over the world. The congress also
attempts to connect participants from institutions that have teaching as
their main mission with those who are affiliated with institutions that
have research as their main mission. The congress uses a quota system to
achieve its institution and geography diversity objectives."
One main goal of the congress is to assemble a spectrum of affiliated
research conferences, workshops, and symposiums into a coordinated
research meeting held in a common place at a common time. This model
facilitates communication among researchers in different fields of
computer science, computer engineering, and applied computing. The
Congress also encourages multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary
research initiatives; ie, facilitating increased opportunities for
cross-fertilization across sub-disciplines.
