------
SCOPE
------
Several developments, such as the success of cloud-computing show that
not the ownership of IT resources but their management is the foundation
for sustainable competitive advantage . According to Ross et al. , smart
companies define how they (will) do business (using an operating model)
and design the processes and infrastructure critical to their current
and future operations (using an enterprise architecture).
Enterprise Engineering (EE) is the application of engineering principles
to the design of Enterprise Architectures. It allows deriving the
Enterprise Architecture from the enterprise goals and strategy and
aligning it with the enterprise resources as shown in Figure 1,
Enterprise architecture aims (i) to understand the interactions and all
kind of articulations between business and information technology, (ii)
to define how to align business components and IT components, as well as
business strategy and IT strategy, and more particularly (iii) to
develop and support a common understanding and sharing of those purposes
of interest. Enterprise architecture is used to map the enterprise goal
and strategy to the enterprise’s resources (actors, assets, IT supports)
and to take into account the evolution of this mapping. It also provides
documentation on the assignment of enterprise resources to the
enterprise goals and strategy.
There are different paradigms for creating enterprise architecture. The
most important is to encapsulate the functionalities of IT resources as
services. By this means, it is possible to clearly describe the
contributions of IT both in terms of functionality and quality and to
define a service-oriented enterprise architecture (SoEA). SoEA easily
integrates wide-spread technological approaches such as SOA or emerging
ones as cloud computing because they also use service as structuring and
governing paradigm. The enterprise goals and strategies are mapped to a
SoEA.
SoEA differentiates four layers of services. Thus, its scope is much
broader than the scope of SOA and also includes services not accessible
through software such as business and infrastructure services. Services
of different layers may be interconnected in service (value) nets to
provide higher level services.
1. Business services are services, which directly support business
processes. Business processes can also be developed dynamically
(on-the-fly) using business services which are available in a repository
for a given business domain. An example is call-centre services provided
by an external service provider.
2. Software services exist as two types: (i) human-oriented
applications, which are provided as Software as a Service, (ii)
application services which are part of so-called SOA that are a popular
paradigm for creating enterprise software.
3. Platform Services provide support of the development of applications.
They provide services for the execution of applications, middleware
stacks, web servers etc.
4. Infrastructure services are more hardware-flavoured services, which
are provided using computers. They may have a human addressee but
contain many infrastructure services such as providing computing power,
storage etc. They are an important topic in management and practice
collections such as ITILV3 or standards such as ISO/IEC 20000 have
gained a high popularity.
------
GOALS
------
The goal of the workshop is to develop concepts and methods to assist
the engineering and the management of service-oriented enterprise
architectures and the software systems supporting them. Especially four
themes of research shall be pursued:
1. Alignment of the enterprise goals and strategies with the
service-oriented enterprise architecture
2. Design of the service-oriented enterprise architecture
3. SoEA and Cloud-Computing
4. Mapping of service-oriented enterprise architecture to enterprise
resources
---------------------
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION
---------------------
During the workshop we will discuss the following topics:
1. Alignment of the enterprise goals and strategy with the SoEA
- Which interdependencies exist between services and business strategy?
- Which concepts and methods are necessary to align services with the
business strategy?
- Which new potentials to reengineer business processes are created by
services?
- How are non-functional requirements derived from enterprise goals and
strategy?
- How are services aligned with non-functional requirements?
- How are services aligned with compliance requirements?
- Are the compliance and governance requirements enforced using SoEA?
2. Design of SoEA
- How are business, software, platform and infrastructure services defined?
- How are business services assigned to business processes?
- How are business services assigned to non-functional requirements?
- How do meta-services differentiate for business, software, platform
and infrastructure services?
- How are appropriate meta-services designed?
- Which phases do the lifecycle of business, software, platform and
infrastructure services contain?
- How can the fulfilment of non-functional requirements be monitored?
- Which benchmarks and key performance indicators should be applied to
services?
- Which approaches exist for the continual improvement of services?
3. SoEA and Cloud-Computing
- How does SoEA interrelate with cloud computing?
- How are Enterprise Architectures designed using cloud-services?
- How differ cloud-services from other kinds of services?
- How are Enterprise Architectures designed using cloud-environments?
- Which meta-services are necessary for cloud-environments?
- How are service (value) nets -consisting of business, software,
platform and infrastructure services- created?
4. Mapping of SoEA to enterprise resources
- Which resources are relevant for SoEA?
- How are services mapped to enterprise resources?
- Which approaches exist to map services to resources?
- Which information system architectures are adequate for services?
- How can non-functional requirements be mapped to capacity planning of
resources?
-----------
SUBMISSION
-----------
Full papers (8-10 pages in the IEEE-CS format) describing mature results
are sought. In addition, short papers (4 pages in the IEEE-CS format)
may be submitted to initiate discussion around ideas or preliminary
research results and ongoing projects. The paper selection will be based
upon the relevance of a paper to the main topics, as well as upon its
quality and potential to generate relevant discussion. All contributions
will be peer reviewed based on the complete version, being full or
short. The review process for the two types of papers will be different
because of their distinct purposes.
All papers published in the EDOC 2012 workshop proceedings must be in
the IEEE Computer Society format
(http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting). It is strongly
recommended that all papers are already in this format when they are
first submitted to workshops. This gives precise picture of the paper
length and avoids rework if the paper is accepted.
Please submit your paper to Easychair at
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=soea4ee2012
At least one author of each accepted workshop paper will have to
register for the whole EDOC 2012 conference and attend the workshop to
present the paper. Analogously to previous years, there will be no
workshop-only registration at EDOC 2012. If a paper is not presented in
the workshop, it will be removed from the workshop proceedings published
in the IEEE Xplore digital library.
The SoEA4EE workshop has been a full day workshop in conjunction with
EDOC’09 in New Zealand, with EDOC’10 in Brasil and with EDOC’11 in Finland.

*** Submission Deadline: March 31, 2012 ***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In our first workshop on Modeling Social Media (MSM 2010 in Toronto,
Canada), we explored various different models of social media ranging
from user modeling, hypertext models, software engineering models,
sociological models and framework models. In our second workshop (MSM
2011 in Boston, USA), we addressed the user interface aspects of
modeling social media.
In this workshop, we will look at collective intelligence in social
media, that is, looking at how we can make sense of the content and
context from social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+
and Foursquare by analyzing tweets, tags, blog posts, likes, posts and
checkins, in order to create new knowledge and semantic meaning.
GOALS AND AUDIENCE
==================
The workshop aims to attract and discuss various aspects of collective
intelligence in social media which involve frameworks for collecting
appropriate data and collecting enough amount of data, mining the data
from different social media and context (e.g., from mobile phones),
creating models for inferring collective intelligence, and evaluating
the framework to determine the accuracy of the gathered collective
intelligence. We want to bring together researchers and practitioners
with diverse backgrounds interested in 1) exploring different
perspectives and approaches to modeling complex social media phenomena
and systems through collective intelligence, 2) the different purposes
and applications that can be created from collective intelligence of
social media, and 3) issues of integrating and validating collective
intelligence of social media.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
==================
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
* new modeling techniques and frameworks for representing collective
intelligence in social media

To: neumann(a)wu-wien.ac.at
Dear Gustaf Neumann,
Let me kindly inform you that the International Conference on e-Business (ICE-B 2012 - http://www.ice-b.icete.org), to be held in Rome, Italy (July 24-27, 2012) is now welcoming the submission of position papers whose deadline is scheduled for next April 26.
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper" or "poster".
Please check further details about position papers submission at the conference website (http://www.ice-b.icete.org/SubmissionGuidelines.aspx).
ICE-B 2012 is part of the International Joint Conference on e-Business and Telecommunications (ICETE 2012) that has 5 more conferences with very strong synergies between them, namely:
- DCNET: Int'l Conference on Data Communication Networking (http://www.dcnet.icete.org)
- OPTICS: Int'l Conference on Optical Communication Systems (http://www.optics.icete.org)
- SECRYPT: Int'l Conference on Security and Cryptography (http://www.secrypt.icete.org)
- SIGMAP: Int'l Conf on Signal Processing and Multimedia Applications (http://www.sigmap.icete.org)
- WINSYS: Int'l Conf on Wireless Information Networks and Systems (http://www.winsys.icete.org)
These six concurrent conferences are held in parallel and registration to one warrants delegates to attend all six.
ICETE is interested in promoting high quality research as it can be confirmed by last year acceptance rates, where from 409 submissions, 12% were accepted as full papers, 16% were presented as short papers and 13% as posters.
The conference program features a number of Keynote Lectures to be delivered by distinguished world-class researchers, namely:
- Venu Govindaraju, University at Buffalo, United States
- Sushil Jajodia, George Mason University Fairfax, United States
- Andreas Holzinger, Medical University Graz, Austria
- Geoffrey Charles Fox, Indiana University, United States
http://www.icete.org/KeynoteSpeakers.aspx
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers (full, short and posters) will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support. BHOE
A short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a CCIS Series book.
Additionally, a short list of papers presented at the conference, will also be selected for publication in the Journal of Information Processing Systems (JIPS) and in a special issue of JNW - Journal of Networks.
The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and Elsevier Index (EI).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).

SUBMISSION OF REGULAR PAPERS:
Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers by uploading them
to the evaluation web site at: http://world-comp.org
Submissions must be uploaded by March 27, 2012 and they must be in
either MS doc or pdf formats (about 7 pages including all figures,
tables, and references - single space, font size of 10 to 12). All
reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors of
accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting format
to prepare their final papers for publication.) Papers must not have
been previously published or currently submitted for publication
elsewhere. The first page of the paper should include: title of the
paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and email address for each
author. The first page should also identify the name of the Contact Author
and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the content
of the paper. The name of the conference (ie, EEE) that the paper is
being submitted for consideration must be stated on the first page of the
paper as well as a 100 to 150-word abstract. The length of the final
Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (two-column IEEE
style) pages.
Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in the field for originality,
significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In cases of contradictory
recommendations, a member of the conference program committee will be
charged to make the final decision (accept/reject); often, this would involve
seeking help from additional referees by using a double-blinded review
process. In addition, all papers whose authors include a member of the
conference program committee will be evaluated using the double-blinded
review process. (Essay/philosophical papers will not be refereed but may be
considered for discussion/panels).
Authors whose papers are accepted will be instructed to upload their papers
to a particular web site for publication - the uploaded papers to the
publication web site will only be checked for correct typesetting. At this
point, authors will be required to attest to the originality of their work
(ie, declaring that no part of the work is plagiarized and the paper does not
suffer from any acts of plagiarism.)
Proceedings of EEE will be published in printed conference books (ISBN)
and will also be made available online. The proceedings will be indexed in
science citation databases that track citation frequency/data for each
published paper (science citation databases such as: Inspec / IET / The
Institute for Engineering& Technology; The French National Center for
Scientific Research, CNRS, INIST databases, PASCAL (covers the core scientific
literature in Science; about 90% of inclusions are journals; only about 9%
are proceedings; worldcomp tracks are selected to be among the 9% - accessable
from INIST, Datastar, Dialog, EBSCO, OVID, Questel.Orbit, Qwam, and STN
International); and others. Though, there is no guarantee that the proceedings
will also be included in EI Compendex/Elsevier indexings, in the past, the
proceedings of EEE was included in these databases. Therefore, we will also
be sending the proceedings for indexing procedures to EI Compendex/Elsevier.
The printed proceedings/books will be available for distribution on site at
the conference.
In addition to the publication of the proceedings, selected authors will be
invited to submit extended versions of their papers for publication in a
number of research books contracted with various publishers - these books will
be composed after the conference. Also, many chairs of tracks will be forming
journal special issues to be published after the conference.
SUBMISSION OF POSTER PAPERS:
Poster papers can be 2 pages long. Authors are to follow the same instructions
that appear above (see, SUBMISSION OF REGULAR PAPERS) except for the submission
is limited to 2 pages. On the first page, the author should state that "This
paper is being submitted as a poster". Poster papers (if accepted) will be
published if and only the author of the accepted paper wishes to do so.
IMPORTANT DATES:
March 27, 2012: Submission of full papers (about 7 pages)

An important mission of the congress is "Providing a unique platform for
a diverse community of constituents composed of scholars, researchers,
developers, educators, and practitioners. The Congress makes concerted
effort to reach out to participants affiliated with diverse entities
(such as: universities, institutions, corporations, government agencies,
and research centers/labs) from all over the world. The congress also
attempts to connect participants from institutions that have teaching as
their main mission with those who are affiliated with institutions that
have research as their main mission. The congress uses a quota system to
achieve its institution and geography diversity objectives."
One main goal of the congress is to assemble a spectrum of affiliated
research conferences, workshops, and symposiums into a coordinated
research meeting held in a common place at a common time. This model
facilitates communication among researchers in different fields of
computer science, computer engineering, and applied computing. The
Congress also encourages multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary
research initiatives; ie, facilitating increased opportunities for
cross-fertilization across sub-disciplines. 32229

===== IWASCL-2012 Workshop: Call for Papers ==================
=================================================================
Third International Workshop on Adaptive Systems for Collaborative
Learning (IWASCL-2012)
Workshop website http://titan.csd.auth.gr/iwascl2012/
IWASCL-2012 will be held in conjunction with the 4th International
Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems (INCoS
2012)
Conference website: http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/~incos2012/
Place& Time: Bucharest, Romania, September 19 - 21, 2012
** PROCEEDINGS by IEEE CPS **
*** Submission Deadline: APRIL, 9, 2012 ***
Theme and Scope
----------------------
Current learning technologies can provide adaptive and/or intelligent
support to learners in a collaborative learning situation. This
perspective lies at the crossroads of Intelligent Tutoring, Adaptive
Educational Hypermedia Systems and Computer-Supported Collaborative
Learning (CSCL), expanding the perspective of the fields and setting
innovative research agendas.
Contemporary learning theories strongly emphasize social interaction as a
key mechanism for the development of shared understanding and knowledge
construction. Consequently, building technologies that intelligibly
trigger, guide and support peer interaction is expected to help students
significantly increase the value of collaboration-generated benefits at
both cognitive and meta-cognitive level.
Working in this context several research groups have made various
contributions leading gradually to the development of systems for adaptive
and intelligent collaborative learning support (AICLS systems). In
general, these systems are expected to model the users (individual or
group), the activity, and the interaction between human and technological
agents and make ?informed? interventions to support pre-task group
formation, in-task peer interactions and domain-specific activities in the
collaborative setting. Early studies on the impact of employing
adaptive/intelligent forms of support in CSCL have provided encouraging
results, however, the agenda is open and several intriguing questions are
still far from being adequately addressed.
The scope of the IWASCL-2012 workshop (the third workshop in the series)
is to provide the opportunity for an informal meeting which facilitates
the dissemination of knowledge in the field, providing useful insights on
existing state-of-the-art research. The workshop sets a broad focus and
invites contributions presenting methods, tools, formalization approaches,
early prototype design and evaluation, pedagogical issues, position
papers. We especially welcome papers that describe speculative ideas, work
in progress, and discussions of challenging issues.
The workshop includes (but is not limited to) topics such as:
-- Theoretical approaches on adaptive/intelligent methods addressing needs
of group learners.
-- User and group modeling to cater for adaptive/intelligent system
design. -- Adaptive and intelligent forms of
tutoring/scaffolding/scripting in CSCL systems.
-- Adaptive collaboration support.
-- Methods and tools for the design and operationalization of
adaptive/intelligent CSCL systems.
-- Adaptive/Intelligent methods for supporting the orchestration of
activities in collaborative learning contexts.
-- Tools and methods for adaptive/intelligent support of learners in
scripted collaboration.
-- Architectures and frameworks for building or testing AICLS systems.
-- AI and Web 2.0 tools& methods to integrate in AICLS systems.
-- Formalization efforts and the role of the Learning Design.
-- Interaction analysis techniques to inform the adaptable/intelligent
behavior of CSCL systems.
-- Learning analytics and educational data mining techniques in the CSCL
context.
-- Adaptive/Intelligent support of learners in social networking applications
-- Pedagogical issues on the adaptive/intelligent support of group
learners -- Evaluating various aspects of adaptive/intelligent systems for
collaborative learning (e.g. cost/benefit issues)
