INVITATION
----------
Computer Algebra Packages (CAPs) - such as Mathematica, Maple,
Matlab, Scilab and many others - are an integral part of Mathematical
Software. In addition to their powerful symbolic manipulation
capabilities, they also provide the users with a large number of
appealing features, such as arbitrary-precision calculations, a fully
integrated framework for numerical/symbolic computation, nice
visualization tools and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), reliable
and fast communication tools and protocols, the possibility of
running remote kernels and performing calculations on the Web, etc.
This session will focus on new software developments (packages,
notebooks, worksheets, libraries, etc.) carried out on any computer
algebra package and introducing innovative solutions to mathematical
and scientific problems. The session will also be a forum for the
discussion of the potential and real advantages and shortcomings of
these computer algebra systems for mathematical software.
The technical session is a part of the International Conference on
Mathematical Software, ICMS'2006 (a ICM satellite event), that will
be held in Castro Urdiales, Spain, September 1-3 2006.
TOPICS
------
This session will focus on new software developments (packages,
notebooks, worksheets, libraries, etc.) carried out on any computer
algebra package and introducing innovative solutions to mathematical
and scientific problems. Thus, we accept papers describing research
on actual or possible applications of these systems to any scientific
field (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer
Science, Education, Industry, etc.).
In addition to their powerful symbolic manipulation capabilities, the
computer algebra packages also provide the users with a large number
of appealing features, such as arbitrary-precision calculations, a
fully integrated framework for numerical/symbolic computation, nice
visualization tools and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), reliable
and fast communication tools and protocols, the possibility of
running remote kernels and performing calculations on the Web, etc.
Papers exploring any of those issues to solve complex problems as
well as papers describing strategies to combine them with other
programs and/or packages are also welcome.
Finally, papers identifying new directions of research, presenting
new software systems or discussing the potential and real advantages
and shortcomings of these computer algebra packages for mathematical
software will also be considered.
The topics to be addressed include (but are not limited to):
* computer algebra applications to Mathematics, Physics,
Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, Social Sciences,
Arts, Entertainment, Architecture, etc.
* symbolic-numerical computations using computer algebra systems
* computer algebra systems and Internet

CALL FOR PAPERS
3rd International Conference on
Distributed Computing & Internet Technology, 2006 (ICDCIT ¡¯06)
20th ¨C 23rd December 2006, Bhubaneswar, India
Proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ICDCIT conference series since 2004 has established a prestigious international forum for exchanging ideas and results in the area of Distributed and Internet Computing and published proceedings as LNCS by Springer-Verlag. The last two years, ICDCIT attracted over 450+ submissions with the acceptance rate of 15-18%.
The fusion of three important technologies: wireless communication, distributed computing and the Internet have played a key role in connecting people across the globe for collaborative net-centric computing and sharing of information. This global integration has motivated researchers to experiment with the integration of applications running at geographically dispersed locations. The spin off of these developments have led to some interesting issues pertaining to distributed computing, web services, middleware, network and system security, data/software engineering.
The research activities in these areas can be classified into three classes, namely, network centric, program centric and data centric. Net Centric is to focus on networking and quality of service issues. Program Centric is to deal with middle layer issues and the interaction between networking and software layers. Data Centric play a central role in enabling in the integration of information and applications running at geographically dispersed locations interacting with both Net and Program Centric layers. ICDCIT 2006 aims to provide a forum for interaction among the researchers
and developers and with this objective, ICDCIT 2006 invites authors to contribute their original, unpublished results
in the following areas but not limited to:
Network Centric
Ad hoc and Sensor networks
Scheduling and Power Control
Resource Management
Cross-Layer Optimization and Network Design- Algorithms and Analytical techniques
Fault Tolerance and Network Survivability
Network Security, Location management, Secure localization.
Quality of Service
Internet Protocols
Program Centric
Middleware
Web-based Computing and Services
Grid Computing
Distributed Algorithms
E/M-commerce
Mobile Agents
Distributed Computing Security

Symposium. Participants of the two events will share invited
talks, tutorials and social events. Contributed paper
presentations will take place in separate tracks in
parallel.
SCOPE
DAPSYS 2006 is expected to be a major event for vendors,
researchers and teachers to consider present and future
topics in parallel and distributed systems. Papers
presenting original research, educational methods, new
concepts, and results of international projects are being
sought. Papers describing clusters, cluster programming,
grid systems and related fields are especially welcome.
Topics of interest of DAPSYS include but are not limited to
the following:
- Cluster and Grid systems
- Distributed and Grid middleware
- Parallel and distributed programming languages and
algorithms
- Formal models for parallel and distributed computing
- Software engineering and development tools
- Problem solving environments
- Grid architectures
- Grid resource management
- Grid workflow
- Grid application support tools
- Distributed information management
- Distributed storage systems
- Advanced cluster/grid applications
