For what it's worth, I've had to use Python lately for work and I have to say I'd still use XOTcl for any of my own projects. Python just seems wrong and even somewhat limited compared to the straightforward power of XOTcl.
You compare the wrong thing.
Tcl <-> Python XOTcl <-> XOPython
But I don't remember the downloadlink at the moment :-)
