Dear all,
As we decided in our first meeting, I am sending you a Dudle link for our second MyDataHub-Austria meeting. I would be thankful if you kindly enter your available time-slots as soon as possible:
https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/2zligxvl/
I will later send you our agenda.
I am looking forward to meeting you all,
Kind wishes,
Soheil Human
Dear all,
this is the response I got from MyData upon letting them know about our intentions to found MyData Austria.
Additionally, we got the email address austria(a)mydata.org <mailto:austria@mydata.org> assigned which is currently forwarded to info(a)mydatahub.at <mailto:info@mydatahub.at>
The process of setting up a Local Group is quite extensiv and described in this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1waDAbeCjX1ySL8chKGbDfLueZ_UAeSsYHVtzCZY… <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1waDAbeCjX1ySL8chKGbDfLueZ_UAeSsYHVtzCZY…>
Therefore, I propose to add an administrative agenda item "MyData Application" for the next meeting and discuss on how to proceed!
Best,
Christoph

> Dear Christoph,
>
> Congratulations, and great to hear that you have already come together to discuss the goals of the Austrian hub.
>
> As you might have heard, we are in the process of finalising and subsequently approving the Internal regulations for the Hubs and Groups <http://bit.ly/mydata-initiatives> at the general meeting on Nov 15th, which defines also the requirements of a Hub (in section 2.1):
> There should be at least two (2) MyData Global members (individual or organisational) to form an Initiative
> The Initiative’s name must include “MyData”. This may be translated into native languages.
> An Initiative need to appoint a Coordinator and share their contact information with MyData Global team for publication. The Coordinator should be a member of MyData Global. The Coordinator will be the main representative of an Initiative, and his/her primary role will be to develop and maintain the strategy for the Initiative together with its participants.
> The threshold is low in order to welcome all kind of hubs and groups, who's (even very small) activities are promoting and fostering the MyData Global purpose.
>
> Once the internal regulations have been approved, I will circulate the application form among all known (existing and emerging) hubs and groups. After you have submitted your application, it will go through a peer-acceptance model (explained also in this Slack message <https://mydataglobal.slack.com/archives/C8T25FW8P/p1541064943023200?thread_…>) and if all is good, we're set to go to put you on an active list of MyData initiatives.
>
> To fasten up the process, i encourage you to already start drafting the application based on the doc version (available below the internal regulations <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1waDAbeCjX1ySL8chKGbDfLueZ_UAeSsYHVtzCZY…>).
>
> Would you have any other questions or concerns, I'm glad to assist!
>
> Sincerely,
> Sille Sepp

> Hi,
>
> earlier this month we had the MyData Austria inaugural meeting and we are now 6 founding members:
> * Christoph Fabianek
> * Soheil Human
> * Elmar Kiesling
> * Axel Polleres
> * Markus Sabadello
> * Michael Shea
>
> All except Soheil have been at the MyData2018 in Helsinki and we want to use the momentum and found also a local hub in Austria. Initial talks about our goals were quite frutiful and we plan to have a local page (www.mydatahub.at <http://www.mydatahub.at/>) and a meetup page up soon.
