Conference Theme:
"Information Technology and business integration - issues and impacts"
Profound changes in the business environment have impacts on how business is run and in its turn on IT management within organisations. One of these is the practice of outsourcing, which has become one major phenomenon in information systems practice and a serious research topic. Another is how e-business is affecting the ways business is organised, the nature of networking and strategic alliances, and the very definition of firm, and the architecture and design of IT infrastructure. PACIS2003 aims to make a modest contribution to a better understanding of the issues associated with how IT departments and other departments within organisations respond to the changes in the environment, and to explore the profile of the emerging business ecology resulting from their close interactions.
PACIS Background:
PACIS is sponsored by the Association of Information Systems (AIS), is the premier information systems event in the Asia Pacific region.
