RECENTLY HELD EDUCATION CONFERENCE The 3rd IASTED International Conference on Web-based Education - WBE 2004 was held February 16-18, 2004 in Innsbruck, Austria. The conference was a success and included the following technical program:

* 183 accepted papers from over 35 different countries * A Keynote Address by Dr. Federico Flueckiger from the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland entitled: Innovative Web-based Engineering Education. * An Invited Presentation by Dr. Erik Duval, President of the ARIADNE Foundation, entitled: Innovative Web-based Engineering Education. * A half-day tutorial presented by Dr. Vladan Devedzic from the University of Belgrade entitled: Intelligent Web-based Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning * An International Worksop on Authoring of Adaptive and Adaptable Educational Hypermedia chaired by Dr. Alexandra Cristea from the Technical University of Eindhoven * A special session on Engineering Web-based Learning Systems chaired by Dr. Spiros Sirmakessis from the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute in Greece * A special session on Intelligent E-learning Systems chaired by Dr. Paul Dan Cristea from the "Politehnica" University of Bucharest * Awards for Best Paper and Best Phd Student Paper Presentation
