The Department of Computer Information Systems and Supply Chain Management in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Computer Information Systems beginning Fall Semester 2016, subject to funding.
Minimum qualifications for candidates for tenure track positions include an earned doctorate in Information Systems, demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research, participation in service activities and evidence of strong teaching capability. Other closely related fields and ABDs will be considered if their degree is completed prior to the date of hire. Instructional duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate-level Computer Information Systems courses in areas such as Systems Analysis and Design, Business Analytics, Database, Sustainability, Networking, IT Audit, Software Development, Information Security and Project Management. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities. Most tenure-track hires are at the rank of Assistant Professor. For more senior rank consideration, a national reputation with a strong current record of academic achievement in research, teaching and service are required.
