CONFERENCE DATES: 17 - 22 JULY 2016, TORONTO, CANADA
TOPIC OF THE SPECIAL SESSION: ============================= Living in the digital business era today, we are witnessing rapid social and technological developments in electronic commerce, mobile commerce, and no-line commerce. Especially the retailing industry is facing rapid changes in consumer behavior and increasing shift towards online commerce in an omni-channel setting. Digital business managers, as well as system engineers, are daily confronted with the challenges resulting from these rapid developments. Among others, designing innovative web, social or mobile user interfaces, along with conversion optimization, are major activities defining firms’ success potential.
But, consumers also demand to access different distribution channels by various access technologies independently from their current location even at-home, on-the-way, in-store or even automated. Such scenarios where the consumers switch for example between shopping online at home, via mobile device on the way, locally in a brick-and-mortar store or even without any active interaction (automated) supported by technologies and concepts of the internet of things (IoT, e.g. intelligent refrigerator), are referred to as no-line commerce. Understanding of user behavior and information needs on the one hand, but also relevant concepts, processes, and technologies on the other hand, is an inevitable precondition for designing and managing successful businesses in the context of no-line commerce and innovation.
These challenges are collectively best characterized and addressed by HCI in Business, Government and Organizations (HCIB).
Theoretical, empirical, and design science research papers are highly welcome. We welcome papers applying different scientific methods, including for instance qualitative research (e.g., case studies), traditional behavioral experiments, and studies using physiological measurement.
Your contributions should be related to the following indicative topics and keywords, which outline the spectrum of issues to be addressed in this special session in the context of HCI in Electronic Commerce, Mobile Commerce and No-Line Commerce:
*User experience and usability in the context of electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce *Trust in commerce, mobile commerce, and no-line commerce and implications on HCI *Concepts and case-studies for HCI in electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce *Processes and Business Models related to electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce and implications on Human Computer Interaction *Usability studies based on physiological measurements (e.g., eye-tracking, skin conductance, heart rate, or ecg) in the context of electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce *Understanding of human behavior and understanding human information needs *Concepts for open innovation and design thinking related to commerce processes *IT Architectures for electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce and implications on HCI *HCI relevant aspects for search engine optimization, web analytics, information retrieval and opinion mining in the context of electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce *Smart Technologies and IT implication for HCI related to electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce
