CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Special Semester on Groebner Bases and Related Methods

Dear colleague,

let me, please, call your attention to the Special Semester on Goebner Bases (and related methods), February until July 2006 at RICAM and RISC, Austria, see http://www.ricam.oeaw.ac.at/srs/groeb/.

During the semester, we will organize a couple of special workshops on special topics like

- applications of Groebner bases in algebraic geometry, - approximate commutative algebra, - efficient Groebner bases computation, - formal Groebner bases theory, - applications in cryptography, coding theory, and algebraic combinatorics, - applications in symbolic analysis (differential equations, combinatorial identities, special functions), - applications in control theory, - non-commutative Groebner bases.

Well-known researchers in these areas agreed to act as chairmen and / or invited speakers for these workshops, see http://www.ricam.oeaw.ac.at/srs/groeb/program.php.

If you are interested in participating in the special semester or one or several of its workshops, please, go to the website and send an "expression of interest" with all data requested. Workshop fee: 150 Euro per workshop. A couple of fellowships are available for PhD students and postdocs. (Applications for these fellowships, with CV and letters of recommendation) should be sent directly to me. If you want to contribute a talk to one of the workshops, send title and abstract to the respective chairmen (cc to me).
