* * Introduction
The mission of the proposed book is to discuss the main issues, challenges, opportunities and trends related to the explosive range of new developments and applications on Industry 4.0, in permanent evolution, and impacting every organization and impacting society. The overall objectives are: - To discuss the importance of this concept and their supporting technologies; - To present recent developments; - To introduce the state-of-the-art technologies; - To discuss organizational preparedness; - To discuss impact on society and on people.
* * Target Audience
This book is expected to be a support to disciplines (post-graduate studies) of Information Systems and Technologies in general. It intends also to serve as guidance for top managers and IT professionals (system developers and IT specialists). The book is intended to support a professional audience of top managers and IT professionals and also an academic audience (teachers, researchers and students, mainly of post-graduate studies).
* * Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
The book intends to collect the most recent developments on the technological, organizational and social dimensions of the Industry 4.0, which dictate a paradigm shift in organizations, society and people. Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following: - The technological dimension, addressing: Supporting technologies (IoT, Cloud, Big Data); Emerging architectures; Technological trends; Security. - Impact on organizations, society and individuals, covering: New business models; Culture and internal communication; Studies on adoption; Studies of impact; Regulation and ethics. - Implementations and case studies.
* * Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 31, 2017, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by April 10, 2017 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by June 30, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Handbook of Research on Emerging Developments in Industry 4.0. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the E-Editorial DiscoveryTM online submission manager.
