*Call for Papers - GIS Minitrack (Spatial Business Intelligence, Decision Support, and Knowledge)*
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial technologies are growing rapidly in business and government. Increasingly these applications involve business intelligence (BI), decision support systems (DSS), and knowledge management (KM). Although there is considerable research on GIS technology and geographic information science, there has been relatively little research in spatial-based business intelligence, DSS, and KM.
The due date to submit papers for the GIS Minitrack of AMCIS 2011 is Feb. 17, 2011. AMCIS 2011 will take place in Detroit August August 4-7, 2011. The manuscript length including figures, tables, and references is 5,000 words or less.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Spatial business intelligence * Spatial decision support systems (SDSSs) * Spatial knowledge management * Management decision-making using GIS * Spatial data mining and knowledge discovery * Web-based GIS concepts and applications * Mobile-based GIS concepts and applications * Methodological papers * Theoretical papers * Case studies * Collaborative spatial BI, SDSS, and spatial KM * Studies of investment in and benefits of spatial BI, SDSS, and spatial KM * Human and organizational factors in spatial BI, SDSS, and spatial KM * Quality measures and evaluation of spatial BI, SDSS, and spatial KM * Systems and software development of spatial BI, SDSS, and spatial KM * Public domain and open source GIS * Industry trends * International aspects of GIS-based decisions and KM * Ethical aspects
