Call For Papers: Special Issue on Future Generation Smart Space (FGSS)

Overview

The Smart space has emerged rapidly as an exciting new paradigm that includes ubiquitous, grid, and pervasive computing to provide intelligence, insight, and vision for emerging world of intelligent environment, products, services and human interaction.

This special issue is intended to foster state-of-the-art research in the area of smart space including the topics of intelligent systems, security services, business models, and novel applications associated with this new paradigm. The published papers are expected to focus on application services and present high quality results to solve various problems in smart space.

Areas of interest for this special issue include the following topics: - Mobile / Wearable intelligence - Smart Space (Home, Building, Office) applications and services - Smart Home network middleware and protocols - Context Awareness for Smart Home (SH) Services - Frameworks for integrating AI and data mining - Wireless sensor networks (WSN) / RFID application for SH - Environment sensing / understanding - Commercial or Industrial applications of AI - Knowledge acquisition, engineering, discovery and representation - Neural networks and intelligent databases - Data mining and Semantic web - Multimedia Security and Services in SH - Security Issues for SHE - Access control and Privacy Protection in SH - Forensics and Security Policy in SH - WSN / RFID Security in SH

Submission due date (Direct submission via Guest Editor): September 15, 2007 Notification of acceptance - (Including WISH-07 selected papers): October 15, 2007 Submission of final revised paper: November 5, 2007 Publication date: 1st Quarter, 2008 (Tentative)

Submission & Review Instruction

Papers, which have appeared previously in proceedings of conferences, could be submitted to this special issue if they are substantially revised or improved from their earlier versions, due to copyright issues.

Submission method (Selected best papers of WISH-07 will be omitted from the first round process);
