Description ========== The interdisciplinary research field of learning and knowledge management has traditionally been a platform for the exchange of research results in the information systems discipline. This research area focusses on the design and on the investigation of effects of socio-technical systems for learning as well as on the handling of knowledge in companies and organizations. Relevant challenges, questions and solution approaches of learning and knowledge management are developing rapidly due to the change of organizations within the digital transformation and the emergence of new technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence, big data analysis and social media). Due to this, requirements targeting learning at the workplace, the handling of individual knowledge, the assistance of humans by machine learning (augmented intelligence), the design of cooperation between employees in teams or working groups and the development of organizational skills are changing rapidly. Personal, team-related and organization-wide learning and knowledge management processes and practices are embedded in company-related, cross-company or open learning and knowledge systems. Often, they are partly supported by gamification elements. In this context, urgent questions about the sustainability of learning and knowledge management processes arise. Consequently, appropriate assessment solutions are required. This track intends to offer a platform for discussing recent advancements concerning learning and knowledge management from a (business) economic, managerial, organizational, social, technological and societal perspective. We encourage you to submit conceptual-theoretical, design-oriented or behavioral manuscripts.
