XBRL, Extensible Business Reporting Language is a new business reporting language for the electronic communication of business and financial data on the web worldwide. Many stock exchanges and capital markets regulators have already adopted XBRL reporting. Publicly traded companies in the U.S. are now required to file XBRL reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Some countries are taking XBRL to the next level; Standard Business Reporting (SBR). Australia is the first country to adopt SBR for all business and governmental reporting; reducing the burden of business reporting for all, Paul Madden SBR Project Director at Australian Treasury will also speak on this topic.
Bryant University has been involved with XBRL for about a decade and happy to present its annual XBRL Conference, December 3-4, 2009.
