CALL FOR PAPERS
*CKME11 - 3nd Workshop on the Convergence of Knowledge Management and E-Learning* http://www.wm-konferenz2011.org/ckme.html
within the 6th Conference Professional Knowledge Management - From Knowledge to Action 21st of February to 23rd of February 2011, Innsbruck (Austria) http://www.wm-konferenz2011.org/indexEN.html
Background and Motivation of the Workshop ========================================= The workshop brings together researchers and practitioners that are interested in combining findings from two different fields: knowledge management and e-learning. Thereby, the content ranges from recent scientific approaches via prototypical implementations up to field reports about the convergence of knowledge management and e-Learning. After the very successful first two CKME Workshops in 2007 and 2009, we will proceed on this current topic. Thus, we would like to keep up the discussion concerning the integration of concepts, processes, and systems for the fields of knowledge management and e-learning. The workshop mainly focuses on two issues: a) how can knowledge, learning and business processes be integrated, and b) how can the related systems be integrated to enable an efficient workflow. Currently, even less learning environments take the context and the environment into account. Using mobile and ambient technologies can lead to a paradigm shift in the construction of such environments: from static to highly contextualized knowledge experiences. Based on the integration of these systems into social networks and social software applications, formal and informal collaborative interactions will further enhance this effect.
Topics of Interest ================== We appreciate submissions from all areas contributing to the development and application of convergent systems especially targeting the above mentioned levels of convergence. Thereby, we encourage contributions addressing technology-oriented as well as human-oriented approaches. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Convergence of processes and systems * Implementing and establishing convergent solutions * Using web 2.0 applications for KM and E-Learning integration * Contextualisation (e.g., location-based services, mobile solutions, internationalisation) * Tools and implementations * Social networks and social media as convergence tools * Prototypes / Cases Studies The workshop should lead to comprehensive insights into integrated knowledge and learning solutions.
Program Committee ================= * Prof. Dr. M. Breitner, Universität Hannover * Prof. Dr. U.-D. Ehlers, Universität Augsburg * Prof. Dr. F. Lehner, Universität Passau * Prof. Dr. R. Maier, Universität Innsbruck * Prof. Dr. J. Niemeier, Universität Stuttgart * Prof. Dr. S. Smolnik, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht * Dr.-Ing. M. Wolpers, Fraunhofer-Institut für Angewandte Informationstechnik * Dr. V. Zimmermann, imc information multimedia communication AG
Deadlines and Submission ======================== * 24.10.2010: Full Paper Submission * 30.11.2010: Notification * 31.12.2010: Final Submission
This workshop solicits full research papers that discuss innovative problems from one of the areas sketched above. The format of a full paper is max. 10 pages following the LNI formatting guidelines (www.wm-konferenz2011.org/authors.html). Only electronic submissions (PDF format) to the EasyChair online conference management system (please refer to www.wm-konferenz2011.org/authors.html for further information) will be accepted. Submission languages are German and English. At least one author of an accepted paper must register for the WM2011 conference before the deadline for camera-ready-copies of the papers (31st December 2010). Otherwise, the paper will not be published. All workshop participants must be registered for the conference.
