Please consider submitting to the Technology and Strategies for SOA mini-track of the HICSS-42 conference to be held January 5-8, 2009 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort on the Big Island in Hawaii. Papers need to be submitted by June 15, 2008. Refer to the following information for additional details.
Track: Internet & Digital Economy Minitrack: Technology and Strategies for SOA
A service-oriented IT architecture (SOA) is an architectural style for building software applications that use available services in a network, which is gaining increasing importance in the industry. SOA is having a profound impact on how information systems are being developed, how IT units are being organized, and may even provide opportunities for new business models. While core standards and technologies related to SOA have matured and are being widely implemented, standards relating to higher level layers of the Web services "technology stack" (e.g., orchestration, reliability, and semantic description) are still emerging or maturing.
Topics and research areas include, but are not limited to: * Reviews of existing specifications and standards, implementation tools, and discussion of their current and future development * Proposals for development, extensions and improvements of current specifications (i.e., semantic description for Web services) * Examination of strategies and approaches of technology application (i.e., governance of Web services registries) in service-oriented architectures * Studies on the organizational impact of the adoption of service-oriented architectures
