Even : though those two topics are closely related to each other, research and : development of electronic markets usually is driven by the emphasis on one of : them to the neglect of threads and opportunities stemming from the other aspect. : In addition, electronic markets are seldom developed as part of an overall : strategy and are usually not integrated into the organizational structure of : companies. : : Against this background we call for papers to explore electronic markets and : their critical success factors in a holistic manner. This includes technology, : models and services, business strategies, and business models. Since it is : neither technology nor strategy alone that distinguishes a successful business : model, we are particularly interested in receiving integrative approaches that : relate technological and management perspective, e.g., we are interested in : methods of designing platforms for novel business models and devising the means : to control the implementation with regards to the business goals. : : Topics include but are not limited to: : - Strategies and business models for electronic markets, e.g., novel : community-based business models. : - Formal or semi-formal models of electronic markets (or components): : conceptual frameworks, organizational models, cognitive models, formalizations, : as, e.g., logical models. : - Design principles of electronic markets: engineering approaches, design : patterns and methods, architectures and components, coordination, trust, : normative values as well as strategic planning and controlling of : platforms for e-commerce. : - Integrative reference models of Electronic Markets describing how to : integrate management and technological perspective, e.g. in design and in : controlling. : : The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers in all areas of : electronic markets to present and discuss research in progress. Attendance is : limited to a maximum of 30 contributors. We seek a mix of participants ranging : from Ph.D. students to senior academics.
