Applications are invited from IS junior faculty to participate in the Junior Faculty Workshop (JFW) at the 2019 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS).
—ABOUT THE WORKSHOP—
The JFW will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2019, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, and will be held at the ICM (main conference venue) in Munich, Germany.
The workshop is a one-day event designed specifically for junior faculty to be oriented and prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. Spend a day with a group of distinguished scholars, mid-career faculty (who have gone through the tenure process more recently), as well as peer colleagues in order to get advice and share experiences. In particular, the goals of the workshop are to provide junior faculty with advice on how to plan and manage their tenure process and future career, and to offer a platform for discussion and networking.
The workshop will address various topics, and related choices, that junior faculty have to make on their tenure-track journey, including publication and networking strategies, tenure preparation and career planning, work-life balance, managing co-authorships, etc. The workshop format will be very interactive in order to make the day both enjoyable and fruitful.
—WORKSHOP ELIGIBILITY—
All IS junior faculty members in their first four years in an academic position (including post-docs) are eligible to apply. The number of participants is limited in order to maintain the richness and intimacy of the experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have not attended a prior ICIS Junior Faculty Consortium/Workshop.
