1st International Workshop on Intelligent Context Modeling and Ubiquitous Decision Support System (ICoM-UDSS 2011)
Affiliated by the 3rd ACIIDS 2011 (http://ke.yu.ac.kr/aciids2011/) The 3rd Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems, April 20 -22, 2011 (Daegu, South Korea)
*Objectives *The International Workshop on Intelligent Context Modeling and Ubiquitous Decision Support System 2011 (ICoM-UDSS 2011) will present the latest high-quality results in the growing field of context modeling and ubiquitous decision support system. Due to the dazzling development of ubiquitous computing technologies, it is inevitable for users to rely on the ubiquitous decision support system to get more reliable and timely information such as location-based information, context aware information, recommendation, context-prediction information, et al. Users used to be depending on a wide variety of decision support systems while they are moving constantly- i.e., email systems, social networks, virtual worlds, web-based systems, and virtual community, etc. In this situation, users become very sensitive to timeliness and recency of information. Besides, they are keenly interested in the quality of information recommended by ubiquitous decision support system (UDSS) about locations they are going to visit, activities they are going to do, and products/services they are going to shop. This international workshop is dedicated to discussing all the relevant topics related to the issues mentioned above.
*Topics* We construe the intelligent context modeling and ubiquitous decision support systems broadly, including applications ranging from e-commerce to social networking, platforms from web to mobile and beyond, and a wide variety of technologies ranging from data mining, business intelligence, context modeling to context prediction, multi-agent systems. Therefore, topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
Context-aware systems Context-prediction modeling Context modeling in online game Location-based commerce Mobile commerce UDSS for context prediction Context-aware UDSS Case studies of UDSS design and implementations Computational ubiquitous advertising Virtual worlds and UDSS Conversational recommender systems Evaluation of UDSS Group recommenders Impact of intelligent context modeling and UDSS in practice Innovative applications of context-modeling and UDSS Novel paradigms of UDSS-based recommender systems Personalization of UDSS Machine learning algorithms for context-modeling Social networks approach to context prediction UDSS interfaces Scalability issues Security, privacy, and robustness of UDSS Semantic web technologies for context prediction Theoretical aspects of UDSS User modeling and UDSS Multi-agent simulations Bayesian networks applications in context-aware UDSS Neural networks applications in context prediction Fuzzy logic-driven inferences for UDSS Collaborative Filtering Theoretical aspects of UDSS Miscellaneous
*Review Process *Each paper submitted to ICoM-UDSS will be reviewed in a double-blind review process. Review criteria includes significance of the work, novelty, clarity, writing quality, and sufficiency of information to permit replication, if applicable.

*Manuscript Preparation and Submission* Submitted papers should be prepared in LNCS/LNAI style and should not exceed 10 pages. Papers in different style will NOT be accepted. To submit your papers please use the official online paper submission system for ACIIDS 2011: http://aciids2011.ii.pwr.wroc.pl/conftool/ and select "Special Session ICoM-UDSS 2011"
*Special Issues* Journal publication is what all the presenters at the international workshop are aimed at eventually. To motivate as many candidate authors to present at this prestigious workshop as possible, we negotiated with many journals (SSCI, SCI, SCIE) to organize a special issue. A number of papers with high quality will be selected from the papers presented at this workshop, and invited to special issues of international journals. List of journals that are currently contacted includes New Generation Computing (SCIE, confirmed), Journal of Universal Computer Science (SCIE), Journal of Information (SCIE), Decision Support Systems (SCIE), and Online Information Review (SSCI). When negotiation is completed, all the information about special issues in the journals mentioned above will be posted at the workshop homepage (http://wiz.skku.edu/icomudss). We believe that this workshop will be one of the best outlets for their working papers.
*Important Dates* Full paper submission: Oct 31, 2010 Notification of Acceptance: December 15, 2010 Camera-ready papers submission: January 15, 2011 Authors registration and payment: January 31, 2011
