Dear Colleague,
This is to invite you to submit abstracts (up to 250 words) for the Information Systems Stream in Young OR 16 (YOR16) conference, which is to take place at 24-26th March at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom http://www.orsoc.org.uk/orshop/(mhsooivbjxjzocbubsxy1w55)/orcontent.aspx?inc....
Todays organisations increasingly plan and invest on new Information Systems (IS) to better compete and align their business strategy and applications.
Organisations are also increasingly presenting themselves as part of dynamic networks. IS assists in the development of such networks, which emerge connecting customers with suppliers, suppliers with suppliers and customers with customers in innovative ways. This perspective provides a wider space for the discussion of development, implementation and adoption of IS as, for instance, various issues related to stakeholders, culture, power, organisational change underpin the process of introducing IS in an organisation. Additionally, the characterisation of IS and organisational landscape by network dominance and increasing complexity may state the need for a paradigm shift in the IS community towards, for instance, complexity science and the shift it can provide in the IS discipline and its re-positioning in the management field.
The stream intends to draw knowledge from academia and industry. It aims to allow young academics and practitioners to present their research and use of IS. The scope of the stream is to enhance our understanding with regard to issues arising from research in IS implementation and adoption in public and private organisations. Furthermore, it is the intention of the stream to promote insightful discussions in respect to the impact of IS on organisational networks and the interactions of organisations with their strategic partners, as well as their impact in their performance. Finally, the stream aims to offer views on possible paradigm shifts towards the study of IS implementation and adoption towards a more dynamical theoretical and methodological platform better suited for studying IS dynamics at the dawn of the 21st century.
Submission deadline is 27th October. For further details please contact Thanos Papadopoulos (Athanasios.Papadopoulos05@phd.wbs.ac.uk).
See you in Warwick!
