Call for Papers for the International Workshop:
Virtual Reality in Scientific Applications and Learning (VRSAL 2006) ====================================================================
that will be held during:
The 2006 International Conference on Computational Science and its Applications - ICCSA 2006 - http://www.iccsa.org
The Hilton, Glasgow, Scotland (UK) May 8, 2006 - May 11, 2006
For detailed information on the Workshop, please visit: http://vrsal.unipg.it
Paper submission deadline: Dec 15, 2005 |
------------------------------------------------------------------
The usage of Virtual Reality techniques in scientific applications and learning has significantly increased during recent years. The development of Web based tools and Grid middleware and infrastructures allows the exploration of new approaches in designing scientific applications and increase the level of interaction between the user and the learning environment. The workshop will represent a great opportunity for the scientists to exchange ideas and progresses made in such field, as occurred in the past editions of 2004 and 2005.
We invite you to submit a full paper of 6 to 10 pages strictly conform to the Lecture Notes on Computer Science edited by Springer.
Submitted papers have to be original, containing new unpublished results. Full version of accepted papers will appear in the Special Issue of Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), published by Springer-Verlag, related to the reviewed Proceedings of The 2006 International Conference on Computational Science and its Applications (ICCSA 2006).
WORKSHOP THEMES ---------------
1. Virtual Reality based scientific visualization 2. Learning and assessment based on Virtual Reality approaches 3. Molecular Virtual Reality techniques 4. Computational Science Education 5. Distributed learning environments 6. Virtual classes and practice 7. Virtual Reality on Grid environments 8. Virtual Laboratories 9. Virtual Reality applied to the Cultural Heritage 10. Virtual Reality languages (X3D, VRML, Java3D, OpenGL) 11. Immersive Virtual Reality
PAPER SUBMISSION ----------------
Participants wishing to present a communication at the workshop should perform the ICCSA 2006 Electronic Paper Submission procedure (\http://cyberchair.iccsa.org) by selecting the VRSAL 2006 Workshop.
The submitted papers must be formatted according to the rules of LNCS (see: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html).
Each paper will be refereed by at least two independent reviewers.
IMPORTANT DATES ---------------
December 15, 2005: Deadline for abstract and paper submission (full papers). January 15, 2006: Notification of acceptance. February 1, 2006: Deadline of Camera Ready Papers and Pre-registration. May 8-11, 2006: VRSAL 2006 and ICCSA 2006 Conference in Glasgow, Scotland (UK)
PROCEEDINGS -----------
The proceedings of the Conference (and of the technical session/workshop) will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
CONFERENCE FEE --------------
With respect the Conference Registration and the conference fee, please refer to the Conference site: http://www.iccsa.org.
