Dear Colleague:
You are invited to submit a manuscript to Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience, Special Issue on Bioinformatics. Details are attached below. We apologize if you received this announcement multiple times.
Call for Papers
Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience
Special Issue on Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics, which combines biology with computer science, statistics and mathematics, is one of the fastest growing disciplines in biological research and in computer science research. This discipline arose out of a need to rapidly expand and critique large volumes of biological data, especially in the area of genomics. Modern biological and biomedical research involves a significant informatics component.
Papers are solicited in all areas of bioinformatics, including the following:
· Comparative informatics · Phylogenetic analysis and tree algorithms · Data mining and pattern/feature recognition for biological data · Gene expression, microarray data analysis · Structure prediction (RNA and protein) · Regulatory process elucidation · Determining protein function and metabolic pathways · Disease models · Simulation of biological systems
Papers should be submitted electronically to:
Dr. Dazhang Gu School of EECS, Stocker Center 329 Ohio University Athens, Ohio 45701 gud@ohio.edu 740-593-2913
Important Dates:
Manuscripts due: March 15, 2007 Notification of acceptance decisions: April 15, 2007 Camera ready copies due: May 15, 2007 Journal publication: June 2007
