Its member associations include the Administrative Sciences : Association of Canada (ASAC), the US Academy of Management and Academies of : Management in all continents, representing over 20 countries. ASAC will be : the host of IFSAM's 5th World Congress in Montreal, following those held in : Tokyo (1992), Dallas (1994), Paris (1996) and Alcala de Henares (Spain, : 1998). : : The theme of the conference will be "Taking Stock." In the new millenium, : we will step back and look at what management scholars and teachers have : contributed to date to management knowledge, education and practice, and : consider what we might do differently in the future. : : The conference site will be the Université du Quebec à Montreal in the : heart of Montreal--a fascinating city with many attractions. The city's : renowned International Jazz Festival (400 concerts including 300 free : outdoor shows, and 1 million participants) is planned for June 28-July 9, : 2000, overlapping the beginning of the conference. Blocks of rooms have : been reserved in nearby hotels from July 6 to encourage participants to : come early and enjoy the jazz. : : PARTICIPATION DETAILS : : Contributors may submit articles (10 single-spaced pages maximum), poster : papers, or symposium/ panel proposals. We are particularly encouraging the : submission of international symposia bringing together people from : different countries to address topics of common interest, related to the : conference theme.
