CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
International Symposium on Research Methods (ISRM) April 3, 2002 Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Chairs:
Karen Loch Georgia State University, USA Ray Hackney Manchester Metropolitan University, UK
The active debate relating to appropriate research methods has entered a crucial phase through the emerging sophistication of many disciplines. We now expect to engage in a critical analysis of the phenomenon under study and to triangulate our findings with both rigour and reality. The aim of ISRM is to bring together academics and researchers to exchange perspectives on a holistic range of substantive issues in this respect. ISRM will be of great interest to anyone researching in, positivist, interpretive, critical, action, case study, ethnographic, hermeneutics, semiotic, narrative and metaphor approaches.
ISRM is being locally organised by University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is sponsored by ISOneWorld { HYPERLINK "http://www.isoneworld.org" }www.isoneworld.org
A 500 word abstract which outlines, in particular, innovative approaches to research methods should be submitted to { HYPERLINK "mailto:r.hackney@mmu.ac.uk" }r.hackney@mmu.ac.uk by January 11, 2002.
The format for the event will be short presentations (15 mins) and discussion relating to themes and issues for the benefit of both the practitioner and academic communities.
