Outline: A large number of companies, organizations, and customers are exploiting the opportunities offered by Internet-based electronic commerce solutions and many more are expected to follow. Companies have put their databases and product catalogues on the Web, search engines allow electronic market participants around the globe to locate potential trading partners, and a set of different protocols are established to exchange goods and services by using different business models and following different strategies. There is a diagnostic need for effective tools for information consumers, who must be able to easily locate in the Web interested information from unstructured documents and pictures to structured, record oriented data. The effective and efficient access to the Web information has become a critical research area. This has led to the development of new e-commerce tools and technology, Web data models and query languages, Web site management system, auction and negotiation systems, etc. The management of Web data is receiving a new set of challenges with the advent of XML and other standards. The main objective of this conference is to bring together researchers from different disciplines, developers, and users all interested in electronic commerce and Web technologies and to assess current methodologies and new research directions. Although a natural focus will be on computer science issues, we expressly welcome technical research contributions from economics, business, law, and other relevant disciplines. EC-WEB 2002 is organized by the DEXA Association in parallel with DEXA 02 (13th International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications) and DaWaK 02 (4th International Conference on Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery). PAPER SUBMISSION DETAILS

Authors are invited to submit research and application papers, not exceeding 5000 words, representing original, previously unpublished work. All accepted papers will be published in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) by Springer-Verlag (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). For paper registration and submission, please click here

Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. All papers will be refereed by three members of the program committee.

Authors are requested to send the abstract of their paper to be received by February 21, 2002. You should submit the file of your paper to be received by February 28, 2002 .
