Workshop on Goal-Oriented Business Process Modeling (GBPM'02) Toronto (Canada), May 27 or(and) 28, 2002 In memory of Dr. Maxim Khomyakov
A material for discussion of notion of goal has been added see: http://www.ibissoft.se/gbpm02/goaldef.htm
Extended abstract:
This workshop is the third one in a series of international workshops on business process modeling started at ECOOP'98, and continued at CAiSE*00. The workshop is aimed at discussing issues connected to the goal-oriented view on business processes. The most important topics suggested for discussions: (a) representation of goals and movement to the goals (b) goal-oriented business process patterns, (c) goal-oriented methods for business process analysis and (re)engineering. The workshop does not focus on any particular method or technology. All possible approaches (be it object-oriented, agent-oriented, based on Petri nets, etc.) to exploitation of goal-oriented view on business processes are very welcome.
The aim of the workshop is discussions, rather than presentations. A position paper does not necessarily need to include the answers to the problems of business process analysis, reengineering, or control. A position paper that raises the relevant questions, describes successful or unsuccessful practice, or experience will be welcome as well.
The results of discussions will be summarized in a working document that will be produced after the workshop. A selection of the best papers will be considered for publishing in a special issue of an international journal. The intended audience is researchers and practitioners from the fields of business development, and business application software development.
Important Dates Deadline for submission: Mars 15th, 2002 Notification of acceptance: April 10th, 2002 Final version: May 5th, 2002 Days of workshop: May 27 or(and) 28th,2002
