Call for Papers – EJIS Paper Development Workshop (at ECIS2019 in Stockholm)
June 12th, 5pm to 8pm
The European Journal of Information Systems will hold a paper development workshop at ECIS2019. The objective of the workshop is to (i) get an overview of the aims and philosophy of EJIS, and information on its future direction in terms of diversity, contextualisation, and European perspective (ii) provide an opportunity for prospective authors to discuss their work with EJIS editors, (iii) to receive feedback on specific pieces of work to best position them to submit to EJIS. We invite the submission of research abstracts of conceptual, theoretical, and empirical work. While there is no guarantee that work presented at the workshop will be subsequently published in EJIS, it is expected that some will eventually published in the journal, once further developed.
Workshop format: - Editor overview. - Roundtable discussion of authors’ submissions facilitated by EJIS editors. - Editors’ panel discussion on tips and best practices for preparing work for submission to EJIS. - Participant dinner
Abstract Format:
Extended abstracts should be between 1,500 and 3,000 words, and follow the formatting guidelines of ECIS papers (http://ecis2019.eu/information-to- authors/additional-requirements-for-research-papers-rp). The content of the abstract can vary but must include the proposed theoretical and practical contributions of the study. To submit a paper to the workshop, email an electronic copy of your paper in word or PDF format to kieran.conboy@nuigalway.ie. Include in the body of the email the name, institution, and email address of each author. Important Dates: The deadline for submitting abstracts for guaranteed consideration for oral presentations is April 30th, 2019. Those who have submitted abstracts by this date will receive decision notification by May 14th 2019. Registration:
Registration for this workshop is free for all authors of accepted abstracts, provided they are registered for the main ECIS conference. The workshop will take place close to the main conference venue.
