The International Conference on Smart Finance (ICSF) is a platform for academic scholars and industry leaders to connect and communicate on how to harness financial technology. The first ICSF was sponsored in 2016 by a grant from the National Science of Foundation for promoting collaborations among scholars in China, Hong Kong, and Macao and was held in Shenzhen by City University of Hong Kong. Since then, ICSF has been held in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Beidaihe, and Shenzhen. In 2022, the conference will be jointly hosted by the Institute of Digital Economy and Innovation and Center for Financial Innovation and Development at HKU Business School, the University of Hong Kong. Smart Finance is research and development about FinTech in the intersection of data-driven technologies (AI, blockchain, big data analytics and data science) and new finance (cryptocurrency, crowdfunding, supply chain finance, and e-payments). ICSF sets its goals on promoting industrial best practices and government regulations in relevant business areas, on facilitating academic researchers to study industrial standards, theoretical advances, and educational frameworks, and on connecting industries and academics to identify and collaborate on unprecedented new opportunities. The conference will include typical conference components such as keynotes, planetary speeches, panels, and paper presentations that are either invited or submitted from researchers in universities and industries. Potential topics include, but not limited to:

* Economic and financial theories about blockchain * Bitcoin and digital currencies * Blockchain Technology and applications in finance * Complex analytics in big data for finance * Data analytics for financial applications * Federated learning in value networks * Fraud detection in financial big data * Governance of big data finance * Innovative value networks such as cross-border payments * Internet insurance and InsurTech * Internet wealth management and Robo-Advising * Mobile payment technologies * Network analytics in finance * Crowdfunding * Privacy preservation in financial big data * RegTech for finance and banking * Security in big data finance

All submissions must have not been accepted by a journal. The following paper categories are welcome:
