More than 1,000 proposals for the SITE 2002 (Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education) International Conference were received by the original deadline of Oct. 29th. This demonstration of the support and high value participants hold for the SITE Conference series is much appreciated!
Although this is an excellent number of submissions, the SITE Conference Committee recognizes that extraordinary world events and resulting stress have caused several people to miss the submission deadline. Therefore, SITE with AACE will extend the SITE 2002 submission deadline to Nov. 20 in an interest to ease at least this one stress for its members and all others interested in participating in this high quality international conference.
These later submissions are limited to Short Papers and Poster/Demos, and the proposals must be submitted in the proper format for publication in the Proceedings; if accepted your submission will serve as the Proceedings version. Notification after review will be by December 10th.
We urge you to submit as soon as possible because as proposals are received they will be sent for review. This also will ease the workload for the Program Committee/reviewers. However, we hope that the additional proposal preparation time will not only give you adequate time to submit but also better enable you to improve your proposal.
An excellent international SITE 2002 conference, with a highlighted PT3 topic strand, is being planned in Tennessee in collaboration with Vanderbilt University. The SITE conference website provides details and updates on the conference at www.aace.org/conf/site/
To keep you informed, you will receive regular updates on the keynotes, panels, special sessions, and social events via this Eductech listserv. ( If you did not receive this message as an Eductech listserv subscriber, you may subscribe at www.aace.org/info.htm )
