-------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht -------- Betreff: [AISWorld] AMCIS 2018: SIGDSA Minitrack on Social Media and Network Analytics Datum: Mon, 29 Jan 2018 13:15:39 -0500 Von: Deokar, Amit deokar.amit@gmail.com An: aisworld@lists.aisnet.org
Dear Colleagues,
We kindly invite you to submit your manuscripts to the Data Science & Analytics minitrack under (SIGDSA) track of the 2018 AMCIS conference, which will take place on 16-18 August, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. The submission deadline is Feb 28, 2018 (Central Time noon).
Following is a short description of the minitrack.
The novel IT capabilities of social media platforms are affecting the underlying theories of social network analysis that were primarily developed for traditional offline social networks. Online social networks are different from traditional networks in both structure (e.g., Facebook 'friends', Twitter 'followers', LinkedIn 'connections') and content (e.g., eWOM via reviews, tweets, likes, thumbs, emoticons). These properties allow lean, yet rich communications, which differ in nature, frequency, reach, and propagation speed by orders of magnitude, and can be continuously captured at the finest level of granularity. To address the unique research challenges offered by this context, this mini-track invites papers in topical areas such as (but not limited to): adoption of social media technologies and its impact on human behavior and decision-making; analytical techniques used to understand social influence and impacts; understanding sentiments in unstructured data including nuances such as uncertainty, specificity; data models for social media, social network structures, and information diffusion.
We look forward to your submissions and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
