Invitation
Movements around sustainability and ecology in the past decade changed our approaches and thinking in radical and inclusive ways. Sustainable strategies include the flexibility offered by ICT-supported solutions. Smart use of ICTs in learning is one of the vital factors in making our world more sustainable.
Sustainable e-learning linked to professional development is based on organic organizational and pedagogic perspectives, while using ecologically appropriate technological solutions.
The role of innovative learning as critical awareness raising factor for global sustainability links organically to education around understanding the contexts of ecological challenges.
The aim of the 2011 EDEN conference is to highlight different ways and approaches, in order to integrate better the concept of *responsible and sustainable development within learning*, in its widest sense.
*We invite EDEN members, partners and friends – old and new ones – to take part in discovering the exciting conference topic from a diversity of points of interest.*
The EDEN Anniversary
Year 2011 marks the 20th Anniversary of EDEN launched in 1991 in Milton Keynes. The jubilee conference will offer great opportunity for the EDEN community, friends and partners to celebrate and also to draw the balance of the first two decades and look ahead for the prosperous development of ICT supported learning in Europe.

The Irish capital, Dublin has very few rivals in Europe for atmosphere, night life, visitor attractions and activities. Steeped in history and buzzing with youthful energy, the city is at the very heart of Irish culture. Dublin is also home to one of the friendliest people in the world.
The host institution: IADT – the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology - is positively energized with *new ideas and creativity* and represents a unique and pioneering approach to education programmes and sustainable learning.
The pleasant surroundings and excellent convention facilities of the conference venue, University College Dublin http://www.ucd.ie/, will *ensure inspiration* for both intellectual exploration, dialogue, learning partnerships and collaboration.
