************************************************ * SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED to JULY 17, 2010 * ************************************************ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PAPERS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- International Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Visual Information Processing (CIMVIP’2010)
under the framework of the 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications ISDA’10.
(November 29 – December 1, 2010, Cairo, Egypt) Conference web page: http://cig.iet.unipi.it/isda2010/ Workshop web page: http://pythia.inf.brad.ac.uk/CIMVIP_ISDA2010
Workshop Chairs:Yousef Alqasrawi, Daniel Neagu and Peter Cowling
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from different fields with interest in applications of data mining, artificial intelligence and computer vision in processing video and image resources. The wide spread use of social networks allows people to upload and share their personal images and videos. Low cost storage and image/video capturing devices have led to the availability of huge amounts of multimedia data, such as pictures and video records, which come at the cost of increased pressure to process them. More research needs to be done in terms of processing, analyzing, mining, managing and searching multimedia visual data. We are looking for original and high-quality submissions that address the evolution and recent developments of various multimedia visual information processing methodologies, ranging from statistical, fuzzy sets, neural, evolutionary, to hybrid soft computing for analyzing, organizing and retrieving of images and videos from the databases.
The topics for this workshop include all aspects of applying intelligent techniques to multimedia visual information processing including, but not limited to: • Machine learning • Fuzzy logic • Evolutionary computation • Data mining approaches • Graph-based approaches • Statistical methods • Hybrid intelligent methods • Intelligent agents • Rough sets
in:
• Intelligent content-based image and video retrieval • Object, image and video classification • Semantic image analysis • Object detection and localization • Semantic-driven context-aware visual information analysis • Semantic image segmentations • Local and global image labeling and annotation • Multiple cues visual information fusion • Intelligent similarity methods for image and video retrieval • Visual feature extraction and description • Visual information processing • Mining visual information from online social networks • Face analysis • Medical image processing --------------------------- Tentative Dates of Submission and Acceptance • Deadline for paper submission July 17, 2010 • Notification of acceptance September 1, 2010 • Camera-ready manuscript submission September 20, 2010 --------------------------- Instructions for Authors Papers must correspond to the requirements detailed in the (Paper Submission) on the conference flyer http://cig.iet.unipi.it/isda2010/flyer.pdf and All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of ISDA'10 that will be also included in the IEEEXplore digital library. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in IJCIR, IJCISIM, JIAS, IJAC and IJGUC journals.
