Dear All,
I would like to thank you very much for joining the program committee of the International Workshop on e-Learning Communities. There are a number of people that have not confirmed their participation yet, but we are hoping that the final PC list will be ready by the end of the month.
Attached to this email there is the First Call for Papers that we will distribute today to a number of mailing lists such as ISWorld and DBWorld. I would like to ask any of you that are aware of similar lists to send me suggestions via email so we can make sure that the event is properly promoted. In the meantime please feel free to distribute this CFP document within your University or Organisation or during any external events that you may attend.
In total there will be three calls for papers and all information related to the event will be available on the web site that will be active tomorrow UK lunchtime. The URL is http://www.mdx.ac.uk/gc/eLOC.html. At present there is a single key note speaker, Prof Paul Leng from University of Liverpool, and we attempt to have a second speaker from the field of online communities.
The dates suggested in the call are firm, but a period of one week has been taken under consideration for a possible extension to the submission date. Unfortunately we cannot be as flexible regarding the deadline for reviewers. Hopefully, each PC member should have no more than a couple of papers to review over a period of 4-6 weeks.
Finally let me thank you again in advance for your efforts towards a successful event. I hope that most of you will get this opportunity also to submit a research paper. Therefore an entirely blind reviewing process will be in place. An additional link to the workshop will be on my new Middlesex web site which will be online at the end of this month. Do not hesitate to contact me with any queries but please AVOID the "Reply to All" option of your email client.
Best Regards
