The Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) Executive Committee and Conference Site Selection Committee has scheduled a joint meeting at AMCIS 2001 in Boston on Thursday, August 2, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Defender Boardroom (7th Floor). The purpose of the meeting is to hear preliminary bids/proposals for hosting AMCIS 2004 or 2005. Preliminary bids will be appraised with approved groups invited to present a complete proposal at an AMCIS Executive Committee Meeting during ICIS (1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2001). Approved groups will be provided with feedback to enable strengthened proposals for presentation at the December meeting, with a final site location decision for AMCIS 2004 being announced by the conclusion of ICIS, and a final decision regarding AMCIS 2005 will be similarly announced assuming sufficient competitive bids are received.

Minimum requirements for a preliminary bid include: ..... Identification of Conference Chair(s) and Program Committee Chair(s) ..... Description of hotel accommodations and documentation of availability and sufficient room/meeting room capacity ..... Description of local attractions and other compelling site amenities ..... Details of Conference proposal developers' involvement in organizing other conferences
