~ ECIS 2016 - 2nd call for Workshops & Tutorials ~
The European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) increasingly attracts co-located workshops on topics related to Information Systems. Continuing on this trend, ECIS 2016 in Istanbul aims to feature a number of co-located workshops. Workshops are especially encouraged on emerging topics and should not already be covered by the conference tracks. Tutorials on teaching, research (methods and tools) and academic careers are also encouraged. We invite the IS community to propose full-day or half-day workshops to be held prior to the ECIS conference. You are invited to submit a complete workshop proposal for further evaluation by October 9, 2015.
*Process* You can propose a workshop until October 9, 2015 by using the online form (http://www.ecis2016.eu/en/workshopform.asp). This form will ask you to provide the following details. - Workshop title - Main contact details - Workshop organizers - Workshop theme - Workshop format - Program committee members - Plan for publications (e.g. a journal special issue) - Target audience and expected attendance - Planned acceptance rate (if applicable) - Workshop schedule (deadlines etc.) - Special equipment needed - Prior experience of the proposers in workshop organization Decisions to accept/reject workshop proposals will be made by the Workshops Chairs in consultation with the Conference and Program Chairs. Evaluation criteria include overall quality of the proposal and compatibility with the ECIS 2016 program (i.e. no overlap with ECIS 2016 tracks) as well as venue capacity.
*Important dates* - October 9, 2015: Submission of workshop proposals - November 14, 2015: Notification of acceptance of proposals and start of discussion on special workshop requirements - June 2016: Workshops at ECIS 2016 in Istanbul
*Responsibilities* Workshop organizers are responsible for the content of the workshop and are required to cooperate closely with the Workshops Chairs and the ECIS 2016 local organizers to finalize all organizational details, such as arranging rooms, catering and required equipments. The workshop will be announced on the ECIS 2016 conference website, but workshop organizers are also encouraged to promote their workshop (e.g. distributing a call for papers) in their own networks. If the workshop has a paper presentation format, the organizers of the workshop will be responsible for the reviewing process. This means that you have to use your own paper management system (e.g. EasyChair) and also have to publish your own proceedings. Workshop attendees must pay the ECIS 2016 workshop registration fee. If workshop attendees would also like to attend the main conference, they must also pay the conference registration fee. Workshop registrations and payments will be made via the Conference registration system, and payments to the facilities will thus be taken care of by the local ECIS organizers. In particular, local organizers may require that all workshops adhere to specific requirements regarding the general timetable, registration and catering. Workshop organizers must inform the Workshop Chairs of the numbers of submissions and acceptances as these numbers become available. Workshops may be cancelled owing to lack of submissions or registrations at the early registration deadline. Please note that the duration of the workshop might be adjusted based on the number of submissions received. Only accepted workshops are official ECIS 2016 workshops and enjoy support from the organizing committee.
*Workshop Chairs* - Remko Helms (Utrecht University, Netherlands) - Huseyin Cavusoglu (University of Texas at Dallas, USA)
