GUEST EDITORIAL PREFACE
Special Issue on Innovation in the Digital Economy
Elena Druica, University of Bucharest, Romania Viorel Cornescu, "Nicolae Titulescu" University, Romania
Widely accepted and widely discussed, the new approaches of the even newer Digital Era economy are far from being observed on a theoretical level only. Social, economic, psychological, and emotional impacts share the costs and benefits of the new paradigm, and the practices it triggered in frameworks where the evanescence of the physical boundaries leads both to increasing possibilities of making profit and to decreasing responsibility given to the human side of things. This special issue explores a broad part of this vast subject and provides the readers with an opened perspective toward various impacts of using digital tools in order to deal with innovation.

Ali Asghar Pourezzat, University of Tehran, Iran Ghazaleh Taheri Attar, Allame Tabatabaei University, Iran
Success in the economy of digital age requires special capabilities, making the limited economical resources into valuable products. Among future limitations, limitation of super-specialized and expert human resources is very important and determining. Super-specialized human resources are considered as strategic factors, and the structure of future organizations should be designed in a way to best utilize the capability of these resources. Therefore, the main problem of future organizations is exploiting and utilizing the knowledge of super-specialized human resources. In this regard, combining the flexibility of adhocratic organizations and expertise-oriented credit of professional bureaucratic tried to design a relatively appropriate structure in the light of Mintzberg's perspective in order to succeed in future age or the knowledge-oriented age of digital economy.

The Impact Analysis of Information Technology on Organizational Success
Olawale Ibrahim Olateju, Lagos State University, Nigeria Raheem Olasupo Akewushola, Lagos State University, Nigeria Mustapha Abiodun Okunnu, Lagos State Polytechnic, Nigeria Babatunde Rahman Yusuf, Lagos State University, Nigeria
Information technology success has been widely discussed in the past two decades. As systems and technologies are being improved and developed, discussions on their effectiveness and evaluation on their success have been continuously debated by researchers, scholars, and practitioners throughout the years. Besides the major concern of information technology effectiveness, this study identifies availability of Internet facilities and software packages as the major independent variable affecting organization success. A purposive selection is adopted in selecting forty medium scale enterprises from five divisions of the Lagos state. Descriptive statistics are used to determine the distribution of the data collected, and the co-efficient of multiple determinants (R2) are used to determine the percentage contribution of the enterprises that had access to Internet facilities and software packages.

PAPER SIX
Mobile Commerce Adoption: A Novel Buyer-User-Service Payer Metric
Qi-Ying Su, Shanghai Maritime University, China Carl Adams, University of Portsmouth, UK
Existing technology adoption models do not explicitly differentiate between the buyer and user of technology, seemingly assuming that the users and buyers are the same. This article reports on an investigation into cell phone/mobile phone use, with samples from China and the UK. There are three distinct stakeholders: the user, the initial purchaser, and the service payer and the relation between these stakeholders can be complex. The article presents a metric that captures six distinct relationships between the user, buyer, and service payer which can be used to distinguish between different adoption groups. This article also provides an enhanced TAM that captures some of the complexity of the user-buyer-service payer relationship in the adoption process for mobile technologies. In addition, the metric and enhanced TAM may be applied to other consumable technologies and working environments.
