-------- Original-Nachricht -------- Betreff: [AISWorld] Call for Papers: Information Systems and Environmental Sustainability, MIS Quarterly Datum: Fri, 12 Feb 2010 15:25:29 -0600 Von: Jan DeGross degro003@umn.edu An: aisworld@lists.aisnet.org
The MIS Quarterly invites submission of unpublished, original research for a Special Issue on Information Systems and Environmental Sustainability. The call for papers aims to contribute significantly to a first wave of rigorous and relevant research that demonstrates the role that IS, which has been labeled “green IS,” plays in the areas of environmental, economic, and societal sustainability issues. This special issue seeks to highlight research that reports developments and analyses that provide solutions to global warming; that explicates theories and frameworks to guide future research in the area of IS and sustainability; and that comprises rigorous empirical analysis of the role of information systems, responsive as well as strategic green IS, in enabling sustainability efforts. The research might be multi-disciplinary such that it includes economics, sociology, psychology, design, engineering, or other perspectives and could employ multiple methods. It should serve to set the foundation for a continuing program of research on sustainability in not only the IS community but the business research community in general.
Guest Editors: Arvind Malhotra (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), Nigel P. Melville (University of Michigan), and Richard T. Watson (University of Georgia).
The submission deadline is January 16, 2011. To view this Call for Papers, or to download a pdf copy of the call, go to the MIS Quarterly’s web site at http://www.misq.org or http://www.misq.org/BulletinBoard/GreenIS.pdf
