TICL Call for Papers Learning Objects and Pedagogy
How have learning objects impacted the practice of instruction? Are you developing new learning objects, or developing instruction based on existing learning objects? Are you doing research on the effectiveness of a specific approach to using learning objects? Are you taking learning objects where no learning objects have gone before? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we invite you to submit a paper for a special issue of the Journal of Technology, Instruction, Cognition, and Learning entitled, “Learning Objects and Pedagogy.”
The vision of this special issue is to document the current state of knowledge in the area of the instructional use of learning objects. Preference will be given to empirical studies, but many types of article will be considered, including lessons learned based on actual experience with learning objects, research into the effectiveness of different designs and / or implementations of learning objects, and new theoretical models for the innovative applications of learning objects. A broad scope of articles will be considered, including “high end” applications such as theory-based dynamic assembly of objects or pedagogical agent-augmented objects, and “low end” applications such as effective learning object use by teachers in public school classrooms.
