Call for Papers Minitrack: The Technical, Socio-Economic and Ethical Aspects of AI Track: knowledge Innovation and Entrepreneurial Systems 56th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-56) January 3-6, 2023. Maui, Hawaii, USA

Fast track journal publication opportunity: Papers presented at this HICSS-56 minitrack will be invited to extend and be fast tracked to a special issue at the Journal of Organizational Change Management.

Scope Augmented Intelligence is a new perspective to look at the artificial intelligence (AI), social computing, machine learning, big data, data mining, and related areas. It describes a system that consists of both artificial intelligence agents and human agents. Compared to the traditional AI with the ultimate goal to replicate human intelligence, Augmented Intelligence aims to augment human intelligence that includes not only the cognitive intelligence, but also emotional intelligence, social intelligence, and physical intelligence. It has a clear emphasis that humanity, not machines, is the core of this scientific inquiry.

Augmented Intelligence describes a hybrid system of not only the artificial intelligence agents, but also the human agents, therefore opening up new research opportunities not only for researchers from technical fields, but also for researchers in behavioral science, social science, organization science, human-computer interaction and many other fields.

Topics This minitrack welcomes papers in all formats including empirical studies, design, theory, theoretical framework, and case studies. In addition to the perspectives above, this minitrack welcomes any studies that investigate Augmented Intelligence from both technical perspectives and social behavioral perspectives. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: -AI and social computing -AI, big data and business analytics -AI and knowledge management -AI, digital inclusion and social inclusion -AI and future of work -AI in digital economy -AI in healthcare -BDA-based systems and AI-based systems -Human–AI hybrids -Trust towards AI -Users’ fear of AI -Use of robots and the impacts on workplace -Biases in machine learning models and best practices -Biases in robotics and best practices -Business applications of AI systems -Value-Sensitive Design and AI system design -Ethical issues in AI development and use -Organizational adoption and use of AI -Regulations and public policies related to AI
