2nd CfP, submission deadline next Monday ================================================= Call for Papers for the Mini Track "INTEGRATED ENTERPRISE-WIDE SYSTEMS" http://ecampus.bentley.edu/org/amcis2001/minitrack/watson.html ================================================= AMCIS 2001 - Americas Conference on Information Systems Boston, Massachusetts, USA, August 3rd - 5th, 2001 http://ecampus.bentley.edu/org/amcis2001/ ================================================= Following a very successful ERP mini track at last years AMCIS, this mini track will serve topics from the area of Integrated Enterprise-wide Systems. The IES track will consider many types of articles: research in progress, completed research, research case study, teaching case study, and curriculum innovation.
ERP dominated the business world in the 1990s. At the end of the century there was some doubt as to the future of ERP. Today, we have observed a significant transformation and continuous evolution of the top ERP vendors and we have observed their total commitment to the Internet, b2b integration, e-business, e-government ... in fact, everything "e". Whereas the 1990s, and ERP, was about integration within the organization, today the attention is focused on integration across organizations and particularly to the end-user (e.g., mobile computing). ERP laid the framework and the basic principles of integration, standardization, and process-centering to continue to serve as the foundation for business in the Internet era. The articles in this track, as a whole, will likely reflect this evolution in research and practice. They can cover all conference's major track areas: Technical, Organization, Learning, and Curriculum/Professional Development. We will close the mini track with a plenary session.
Possible Topics may include the following:
* Special Applications extending functionality of IES * IES Design Futures * Achieving worlds best practice in IES * Educating with and about ERP * Extending IES through Technology * Adopting, Accepting, Delivering and Infusing IES throughout the organisation * Hosting IES applications: pro's cons and critical issues * Systems Thinking and IES: a critical perspective * Enterprise Application Integration Systems * Political and Cultural Influences in the IES Life Cycle * Cross Cultural Issues in Global IES implementations * Achieving Strategic of Enterprise Systems * Benefit Realisation with IES * Organisational Barriers to IES Infusion * Extending Enterprise Systems * Process Optimisation: Issues, Models and Organisational Impacts * Information Theory and Organisational Theory: Models for Enterprise Systems Success * Systems Thinking and Obtaining Business Benefit through IES * Systems Optimisation: ERP and the Manufacturing Industry * Curriculum innovation in Information Systems using IES * Strategic Alliances between Consultants, Vendors and Industry: the Knowledge Management Supply Chain.
