Journal of Electronic Commerce Research - Special Issue Tentative Publication Date: February 2002
The E-Commerce Security Imperative
With the ever-increasing incidence of IT and communications security breaches and privacy invasions, facilitated by an ever more interconnected world communicating over converged networks, it is imperative that privacy, information, systems, and networks be adequately protected.
This Special Edition of the JECR Call for Papers addresses the needs for insightful research on topics relating to information and communications security. Such topics may address, but not be limited to, the following topics:
µ Components of a Threat Analysis µ Incidence of Attacks and Categorization of Such Attacks µ Future Wars: Bits and Bytes versus Bullets and Bombs µ Infrastructure Protection Requirements µ Elements of Information and Communication Security µ Issues in IT and Telecommunications Security µ Privacy µ Tools and Techniques for Protecting Information, System and Network Assets µ Examination of Threats and Potential Threats µ Presentation and Comparison of Leading Tools µ Examination of Laws Regarding Information Security Products and Their Export µ The Balance Issue Between a Legitimate Governments Right to Intercept and Decipher Communications versus an Individuals Right to Privacy
Additional e-commerce, IT and telecommunications security topics will be considered.
Submission Dates: Abstracts and outlines are due by June 15, 2001. Complete Submissions are due by September 30, 2001. Peer Review and Revisions October 1, 2001 to January 15, 2002 Publication is scheduled for February 2002.
Submission Procedure:
Interested researchers are encouraged to submit two page abstracts and outlines by June 15, 2001 by email addressed to: jnugent@gsm.udallas.edu. For submission guidelines and other pertinent information please visit the JECR website at http://www.csulb.edu/web/journals/jecr/ Researchers submitting those topics selected for possible inclusion, will receive a confirming email.
Researchers receiving a confirming email are to submit completed submissions by September 30, 2001 by email to: jnugent@gsm.udallas.edu Peer reviews shall be returned to researchers by email.
Information to be included on the cover page includes:

Attach to the complete paper submission a brief (no more than) one-page biography of each contributing researcher.
